I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

thank u for ur time wat about
gvl and sjv

V can work sometimes, when it's placed at the end of a domain name. Now, normally W is the character for "net" or "web" in Chinese. But, I have also read many times in domain news that "v" is also used because it sounds like "wang" (though it's a bit stretched in my opinion). S and V are good. Here are some examples for you.

SJV:数据网>Data network
SJV:手机网>Mobile (phone) network
SJV:设计网>Design network
SJV:世界网>World network
SJV:商机网>Business opportunity network

And I really liked the meaning of it. Think I will keep it:) And all here asking for questions, I have actually hired Chinese translators to interpret the number domains for me. Since this person do it for free, I would be happy to donate $10. Just send me a paypal address. best regards/John

You are very generous. Being appreciated is the most rewarding thing for me, so I'm happy to help and I don't need the money. Thank you though. :) :) :)

@ojo, you are so kind. Thank you.

Now that I've started blogging, I'll spend most of my time in it. I won't be writing much in this thread, but I'd like to keep it open for you to post questions or any topics you like me to cover, and I'll answer them in the upcoming blogs. Stay tuned.

Can anybody give me a hand with some combinations and what they could mean in Chinese? I would really appreciate it. These aren't domains that I own but considering registering in some of the more exotic extensions. But as you know, some of those extensionscan get rather expensive and I don't want to throw away money. So any help is appreciated.

PH is used a lot. Mostly as the start of last name or place.
