The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I notice the flippa seller is now banned.

So sorry to say, looks like they were a scammer... I think you need to get in contact with flippa like they suggested up thread.

If you can claw back your money from them, and chetan can claw back his money from you, then everybody is back to the start?

Honestly, James, nobody will sell a $2k domain for $440 without some serious reasons. In your case, I don't see such reasons.

All the back and forth isn't very productive and it seems at this point that Flippa staff might have some crucial piece of information to help find a solution for you both.

Maybe both to see which offers the best solution.

It's interesting that domains associated with both the names Williamson21 at namejet, and jackbrown22 at flippa are newsworthy.

How does a private sale work at Flippa? I mean, how did you come into contact with such a handsome deal on a now curious domain? Is it an invite thing? Seller contacts Flippa and they find a buyer?

That $440 price is so low it's amazing. I wonder if Kevin will shed light on what was behind the ban of the user jackbrown22?

no basically seller lists it as auction (premium one in this case). then i saw it and i lowballed him an offer to seeif he would budge and he did. then i paid and i applied the privacy option you have on there

So, he paid $200-$300 to list an $1800 domain and then sold it for $440. You are the best negotiator I've seen.

hereby I request @James Rodman to please refund me the full sum that i paid for the domain, as I did purchased domain completely by trusting what Mr.James said.
He is a well reputed member here as well as on flippa. So for the sake of all the trust that buyers put on your shoulders while dealing with you, please do honor full refund to me.
Thanks

It is generally seen as inappropriate to report to your bank before allowing the other party the opportunity to resolve, because a bank will just issue a chargeback request and sting the other party with extortionate fees....

$1800 purchase - $300 flippa fee + $440 sale price - $44 success fee - $18 PayPal fee = ($1722) :-/

Got it. So you send a PM with an offer, he agrees and either ends his premium auction (assuming it had no bids) and you use the offer feature, or he changes his auction to a BIN and you snatch it up and during the process there is a privacy setting you can check off.

Hmm, so Flippa and Kevin would know the behind the scenes stuff - be able to shed some light on ways to prevent this in the future, and why this user was banned.

Yeah, it does seem like a ton of work to go through if you were just laundering a CC for a net gain of $78 bucks eh?

What if you'd purchase the domain from yourself for $1800 using that stolen credit card...

I purchased a domain Lio.net from James on sept 2nd and this domain was removed from my account all of a sudden.
When I called Network solution then I was surprised to hear that domain is deleted from my account and is near New Ventures LLC and I was supposed to buy it form them.
I have opened a ticket an Network soution and will soon post it here all the updates
In short I was given a domain that was already expired one by Mr. Ertugrul aka James rodman

Ah, yes, New Ventures Services rears its ugly head once again.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if both parties are innocent and that the real culprits are NetSol and New Ventures.

Rather than explain here, just read my report on Scamful (no ads)
