Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Now, looking at the way I structured this response, how I placed colors to be easier to follow, do I look disorganized?

You have a history of rude, insulting, and racist remarks on here. Case in point: https://www.namepros.com/threads/insticts-com.831318/#post-4685884

as well as others you've posted. You have zero self-control. If I were you I would wonder how long my account will remain active on this forum but I cant determine which will happen first, you getting banned or you alienating yourself from everyone.

This is directed at YOU "Eno Unique Domains" and no one else on here. I hope the moderators get around to seeing your post on here.

My Sedo rep Georgina is away until mid Sept. She is always quick and efficient.

However, her temporary replacement that she referred me to ,Yohannes, fails to respond.

Anybody having the the same problem?

Exactly the same problem here. I wonder what is happening at Sedo?

a) Domains with "account conflicts" routinely added about a week ago are still not processed

b) !!! SEDO does not seem to "respect" custom related keywords anymore. Even though configured @ some domains using 1- or 2-click landers, in particular to avoid potential tm issues, and of course to optimize revenue, each and every landing page we checked actually shows google-based related keywords instead. Anybody noticed the same?

I have never had any success at Sedo getting my domain name landing page to serve advertisements that were even close to the domain name and the keywords that I placed. I wasted so much time tweaking those keywords. I brought it to their attention dozens of times. In the end I gave up with Sedo parking. I just stick to listing my names for sale there. If they sell, they sell. If they dont, then they're listed at a 1/2 dozen other places and they DO sell elsewhere. (they also make better PPC money elsewhere too. That place begins with a "V")... ;)

Well even though "common" Sedo paid (pays) very litte, parking payouts from Sedo Pro are somehow "in line" with the competitors (except dns/internettraffic who claims to pay 100%). At least as per our experience. SEDO has (or had, as it is no more working effective September/?/) an useful feature of language-based related links. An opportunity to submit different related links for each of "top 6" visitors languages IN FACT allowed to improve clickthrough %%%. Domainsponsor has similar feature - for fixed set of languages, but DS has its own issues which prevents us from actively using them. Can anybody recommend an alternative that also supports both 1- and 2- click landers AND allows to configure different sets of related links for different languages?

Important Updates
Standardization of Sedo’s sales commission rates
Starting October 21, 2014, Sedo’s sales commission rates will be standardized

Every category 1 domain which is sold via the Sedo Marketplace or SedoMLS will have a minimum commission of 50 EUR/USD or 35 GBP. This also affects domains which are parked and for sale with fixed prices. In return you get a secure and trusted intermediary for the escrow of your funds and transfers of your domain names.

More and more new TLDs can be transferred for only 50 EUR/USD (or 35 GBP). This currently applies to 250 different TLDs at Sedo and is growing at an ever-increasing rate. Detailed information on prices and supported domains can be found on our price list.

Please also note that listing a domain for sale is still free of charge.

So be aware when you are pricing with fixed prices and price accordingly ( maybe go over portfolio if you have your domains with fixed prices <$100 I would just bump that up a bit as for $60 sale with fixed price you would net $10 :) ) .

I've sold 6 figures worth of domains since being a user there.

so how do you know, that most end-users don't know they exist? what evidence do you have to support such statements?

as they've been serving domainers for 10 years!

here's a few we sold via sedo, which were purchased and later developed by end-users:

Really? :xf.grin:

Somewhat in defense of evirtual1's comment, AFAIK the far majority of end users "find" Sedo by way of the specific parked domain they're interested in. I envision precious few who actually shop domains on the Sedo website. Those who do must possess the patience of saints.

That's it, people who are interested in your domain will usually type it in first, to see if there is a site or something. If it's parked at Sedo, then they may register there and start negotiations.

how they get there is irrelevant, just like how newbies find NP or how newbies find the bot or videos to watch.

if a mo-fo is "looking", and finds your ass is attached to the domain, makes a purchase.... then that's all that counts.

however, when I look at their "buyers profile", majority of times they've been a user, prior to making the offer.
and....often they have more than 1 fricking bar!
and.... out of all sales, only 1 mo-fo didn't follow thru on a deal.

so 99% were professional.

:)

imo....

Had a new one on Sedo - anyone seen this happen?

A domain in my control panel there showed a symbol saying its status was "Reserved". Could not edit anything or remove the listing - it was all greyed out.

It was set to BIN and the parking page still offered a link to a sales page showing the BIN (which I now could not edit).

After maybe an hour the Reserved status disappeared and I put up the BIN, due to news stories that might help the domain.

Carob I have seen those blue ! icon as well in my panel on some of my domains and when hover it said domain reserved so I asked my account manager at Sedo what does it mean and here was her reply if that might help you :
The blue exclamation sign (triangle) just means that the domain is ‘reserved’ temporarily at some registrar.

This happens apparently when someone has put the domain into their shopping cart at some registrar. The domain will either be sold to that buyer.

In general terms this means that there is an interest in the domain name at registrar’s site, and a sale may be imminent, but if not the hold will drop within 96 hours.

Hi thanks for that info. Shopping cart makes sense since it is fixed price so Sedo MLS lists it all over the place.

I also once saw a T icon next to a name in the morning, which said the name was being transferred. WTF? That was news to me. Looking around a bit on Sedo I found in the night it had sold at a fixed price...but Sedo seems to just send notification emails at 830am so the notification came later.

Effective communications is not Sedo's stronghold.

I probably average 1 sale a year thru Sedo :( GoDaddy produces approx 50% of my sales every year, with only the basic Make Offer listing.
