Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

Very likely they are actually buydomains sales as opposed to people who have listed on Afternic.

There are, at present, 158 LLLL.com's sitting in the bin for $5 a pop (+ renewal), most of them having sat there for almost a week now.

Not even 6 months ago, whenever a LLLL.com hit the bin, it was snapped up almost immediately.
Now, that isn't happening.

There's no reason to be alarmed. They will all be bought up once they drop back into the public pool. There's no reason to pay $13 when you can pay $8.

I am well aware of the correlation, i have listed at Afternic and sold there (at BuyDomains).

I think Vana is by far better than Paha (H kills it), to me $10k doesn't sound high for this domain.

I was willing to pay 2K for VANA

I actually had bought Vana at GoDaddy Auctions for low $x,xxx. But then suddenly there was a change of ownership (from one person in Turkey to another), and buyer never transferred the domain although he had confirmed he would.

I am not saying there is something illegal going on here, but this was enough for me to not bid on it during the Great Domains auction just a few days after it had changed owner.

I have to agree -- VANA is a pretty strong CVCV, passes the audio test, and gives old folks a bit of a hot flash as they think back to Ms. White in her high heels... ooh la la.

Still, I would rather pay low $X,XXX at GD than end up paying five figures at SEDO (which seems a bit much.) Euroflash -- too bad the deal fell through, but I think you did the right thing by not bidding on what might be a hot item.

Changing the subject --

Does anyone else think that this might make a difference for our niche?

A site listing (only) four letter domains at fixed prices that are :

premium
pronounceable
cvcv/vcvc
and other popular patterns

Wouldn't this be a good way to sell more domains, and at higher prices?

I am sure that plenty of start-up types are searching for names, and plenty of corporations are trying to gain access to meaningful acronyms and abbreviations. Perhaps if there was a directory of available "premium" LLLL.com domains with fixed prices, it could stimulate a "high-end" LLLL.com buyout and raise the average prices throughout the short domain market.

Anyway, just something I've been thinking about. Looking at Afternic prices week after week, it seems like BuyDomains and others are already trying to shift the price floor to new heights, and we might as well cooperate. I wouldn't mind selling off a bunch of domains at those kinds of prices...

Feedback much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a good idea. It would be nice to have a "central" place for nice LLLL, so companies could have a look there instead of at Sedo's 12 million (or more than that) domains...
