Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

I've lost out on auctions before at TDNAM and the high bidders above me didn't pay, and GoDaddy emailed me and asked if I was interested in purchasing at my last bid price. They asked, not forced. I don't think they can just automatically make you buy them like that if you weren't the high bidder.
I don't think they were forcing me to pay, it was just weird that I don't remember getting emails stating that I have a chance at owning them. If I would have waited one more day, they probably would have sent me emails about the domains, but I grabbed them both before they had a chance.

Fantasy - are you saying that they sold you the names without sending you email telling you that you got them? Or, just as bad, the email was titled just the same as the others they send?
No, I never got an email. I am assuming the first person didn't pay, and the other 1 or 2 bidders did not respond. They might not have got emails just like me and didn't know they had the option to buy them. I just ran across them by accident and noticed they were available for me to buy.

Not sure if everyone noticed, but over on the GoDaddy discount thread there is a code for a $1.99 domain register or transfer. The code is "geo199".

Perhaps you can use it on some of the dropping domain names?

As well, "tweet1" can be used for a $4.99 new reg.

Thanks for the info. It looks as though it only works for 1 transfer per customer, but I saved a few dollars on 1 transfer.

nice name, congrats to seller, happy I have duup.com )))

It was an expiring name auction. The domain was sold for $45,000 last year on Sedo to an enduser who later gave up a social networking projected intended for it and now let it expire. Amazing...

Nice nice, but certainly no guarantee that another enduser will come along with such a high offer.

I sold q h b p to a company in California for $1240 in August. They contacted me through the domain's contact link at Parked.com.

I used Quality Homes Buena Park (pop. 78K) as my initial negotiating leverage since it was also in California, but they may have been more interested in the newly created acronym Quality Health Benefits Package that was part of the original house health care bill that was drafted over the summer. After 2 weeks passed since they accepted my counter offer on escrow.com but still had not made payment, I used that new acronym to generate a time restraint (I've seen a sudden surge in interest in this domain - apparently its being used in the new Health Care bill) and they paid within 48hrs.

They never tipped their hand as to what they actually wanted it for and its still parked at GoDaddy so only time will tell.

john gave a tip/link for why cuny could command such a price, had nothing to do with being a CVCY....

hope that educated price applies to my ACRL as well someday! :hehe:

Yeah, I bid it up to $XX,XXX but then about 3-4 other bidders went way beyond my limit! If they park the domain, I'm sure they'll get a return on their investment within 24 months IMHO.

Cuny is nice, but isn't the price too high? It has only one important possible buyer, and it could be at risk if that buyer decides to try other means instead of buying.

I can't speak for the winner of the auction, but in my case, I was interested in the domain purely for parking revenues. If you can get a return on your investment within 24 months and have ongoing revenue for years to come, it's a fantastic investment. In this case, the amount has nothing to do with the fact it was a 4L; it just happened to be one.

Archive shows only one link which shows Cuny.com was forwarded to the Cuny.edu site, which means the University owned Cuny.com and let it drop. That lone link makes me think the .com was probably being forwarded to the .edu for many years and never updated.

how would one generate parked revenue from this particular domain name? wondering cuz I hardly see anything related to it..

1M would be approx 150uv/day if I compare it to my other names.
4500uv/mo should get a really nice revenue stream with that kind of targeted traffic :)
