I think the net sold recent at auction for over $1,000 and is reg to Frank Schilling (I think) or his business name. This org name was dropped after 6 years according domain tools. Since I run woodpelletfuel.org with great serp's this can make a good addition. I find it boring though.

I think you should always consider the end user
When I reg my first question is, "where can this domain add value?"
By value I mean "can it generate at least 10x reg fee?"
Being also at the novice end of the domaining spectrum, I am focused on revenue in whatever form it comes
Suggest you look on the sold domains thread to see what type of brandable domains sell

There are domains available now with 50k monthly in US
Hundreds drop every day
If you cant sell immediately then develop for revenue...and perhaps a later flip

Thanks for the headsup, I follow the thread you quoted religiously and also I found out that english words + tic (suffix) have sold at a reasonable $xxxx price with low volume search on Google. Also, on this same thread, I use to see this type of registration trend.
