Does anyone here use 1and1.com and what do you think of them?

Use them regularly since 2009... mainly for Transfers (and saved a lot)... sometimes - for Registration...

Are they a safe company to do business with?
Do they have good customer service?
How is their interface, and is it easy to push or transfer?

Transfer-out is easy and also instant (since 2016).
Internal transfers (pushes) require 1year-renewal to be paid, so I don't use them.
I had a few billing-issues there but all were resolved by their Billing team.

I actually worked for them for a while... my opinion was that they're safe enough, no big problems with their domain services... but that everything they do besides that is a huge rip-off and riddled with incompetence.

Their panel is not oriented on domainers, lack of bulk operations...
This is the most negative factor there.

If you don't actually cancel your expiring domain, rather than letting it expire, they will renew it and send you to collections if you don't pay.

I also don't like such uncomfortable conditions...
But my primary mission is to save money...
