Nope, they are not!
My biggest mistake in this business was a stupid decision to reg. over 2000 domains with 1und1
Total lost - something about 10k EUR
Avoid them!
As a newby I was eager to register an account with them. As I was filling out the registration sheet I would come to the question about country residence. You will not believe this, but you can check it now for yourself, I was not able to choose my country Slovenia since it isn't listed in their registration sheet. Not in drop menue and no manual type in possible. I was contacting 1&1 support and after one day or two I got an e-mail responce that I should go and register at the 1&1 website for my country. No link, nothing and there is no 1&1 country website for Slovenia. There you go that an internet company in 2015 has not listed all world countries in the registration path - I think that over 100 countries are missing.
But the Domain gods saved me from all the troubless I have found later in the forum. Thanks!
NO! They take like 24hrs to reg a domain after it's purchased. I think when you click buy they take your money, then someone walks to the bank and then takes it out. Then they walk to an actual domain registrar and hand over your cash for a domain. Then finally you might get the domain........that is unless of course someone else has regged it while you waited.
1and1 is the worst company I have ever encountered in my life.
They are dishonest, unethical, treating customer like dirt, charging customer with fake invoice.
Unbelievable there is such a scam company in the U.S.
