I've owned the domain YesHappens.com since August of 2017. I was going to let it drop until I just saw that the domain Yes.com just sold for 5.54 Million Dollars.

Anyone like to take a shot at appraising YesHappens.com? Thanks

Nothing wrong with this one, but the chance of a sale seems low (no obvious end user where the name can find immediately use in an existing project or upgrade their domain) which largely determines what I would pay or keep as a reseller. Can see it used in marketing with good success. Any name that isn't trash is worth at least low $x,xxx to an end user. For this one I'd quote 30k, but i'd take ~5k.

Personally I have stopped appraising domains and instead try to tell the member what I would do in his situation. Appraisals are just speculation and some members are bang on while others.... not so.

That said I have seen newbies sell domains for cash that others advised to drop so take it all with a grain of salt and draw your conclusions from the bulk of experience responding to your appraisal.

At auction my high bid would be max $800 but that is my point of view wanting to pick it up at wholesale.

Because its not a natural flowing two word I would have to carefully consider my purchase as a wholesaler.
Shithappens would be an example of a natural flow because it is an actually used term.

Where would I set the retail if I picked it up the way you did? I would count my blessings anywhere up to the 5k range at retail. But you know how it is with .coms, for the right client its always worth a lot more.

Thanks MapleDots....ironically I own a few other domains very similar to sh*thappens. I'll pm you with those because I don't believe I can share them on this thread. As for YesHappens...I picked it up after I saw a slogan, "Yes Happens Here" at a local business. btw, I just picked up the .com for that as well.

Also, I learned more from your post than from any of the other appraisal responses I've had in a good while. Maybe the place to do something like this is at the Domain Discussion thread, but every time I try to do that, I've been accused of promoting and advertising due to the target on my back.

Regardless, I'll PM you MapleDots, and thanks again.

Thanks for your appraisal...you said, "Can see it used in marketing with good success". I picked up the name after seeing the slogan "Yes Happens Here", so I just picked up that name as well. Thanks again.

I would keep it, as the yes.com sale makes a good sales reference point, at least in the near future.

But, and this stinks for me too, it’s not really valuable - keep it as a hold it could a good sale be to the “right” buyer. If you can hold or think it’s worth it.

I have YesBenefit.com - somewhat similar/compish? IMO. But I can’t get a bite - and a big part of my base is benefit administrators... thought for sure this would be scooped up. It’s also one of the few I have submitted to the brandable sites and it was turned down.. again I’d keep it and I’m keepin mine.. just note there is not a likely quick turn possible it might be when a buyer comes along... darn renewals hahahah
Just my thoughts,
Brian.
