Would you bother to renew desktop mx

Hi all.

I am really in two minds about this one -- any suggestions would be very welcome. I hand regged desktop dot mx a year back. Estibot values it at $16,000 which is far to much I know. However it is a strong keyword.

Would you bother to renew it ($49) or just let it drop ?

.COM renewals at less than $10/year are much easier to handle than most CCTLDs. With a .MX I would expect a Spanish domain. My experience with ten years mostly in Spanish domains is that the market is still in its infancy. It may be another 5-10 years before end users wake up to the branding value of domain names - maybe never. In this case, your end user who would sell not only desktops but laptops, tablets, printers, computer accessories, software, maybe even office furniture and cellphones. So at $49/year it is just not worth the cost. If you have some time prior to expiration you might could reach out to a few end users and see if you can sell it low $XXX. But my experience with reaching out to end users in Latin American markets (using Facebook) is that they do not even understand what I am selling (i.e. a domain name) or they simply respond we already have a domain.

Dot MX is a Mexican domain. I understand your point about trying to connect with an end user there.
