It is probably quite tempting for many to "drop" their .co.in /.in names as they come up for their first renewal.
Think carefully before you do. All country extensions have taken a while to get off the ground (I was lucky with my .co.in sales from last year).
.us is picking up steam, .co.uk is showing strong sales and .de - what can you say - amazing.
Here is some data re India:

The economy is booming with technology at the forefront, great news for the prospects of the internet :imho:
One point you should take in to account, make sure the names you renew are relative to India probably tech / consumer related or top generic keywords. If they are not think about it.
If you do renew and you have a lot of names, try to stagger the next renewals by renewing at different times during the year - then you don't get a large dent in your cc all at the same time
On an equally positive note, I had four offers from Sedo on .co.in last week, two I rejected, one is still in negotiation $xx,xxx, one has gone to escrow for 2,000 euros.
Good Luck,
Wot
