With people getting scammed especially for amounts under $1000 in the domain industry would a Forum escrow work.

NP ESCROW

In sales thread seller posts they use NP ESCROW

SOmeone posts sold
Seller pushes name to NP
Buyer pays seller
Seller pm's NP $$$ received
NP pushes name to Buyer

COST 300 NP$ $25 to $99
400 NP$ $100 to $299
500 NP$ $300 to $999

This would not be needed with a lot of smaller transactions with respected members. I don't Need NP escrow with DB or Grilla or JEff or etc..... but for members with no TR rating or those brand new it could provided a level of comfort.

Nice idea, but pushing between registrars starts getting confusing ;).

That's a good idea, however, you need some admins out there to do thoses pushing stuff everyday.

I think it is a good idea, but I don't think a majority of users would use it because of the fee, and thus scammers would just stay away from those auctions, and still scam in the non escrow auctions.

good point jeter right on, but I think if someone new or no tr rating and they would not use NP ESCROW that would be a red flag and you could avoid getting scammed.

I think the fee could be lower, IMHO.

Otherwise, I like the sound of this idea :tu: !

Or you wont have to be required in every transaction but they seller can specifiy wheather or not they want to use it.

Right in no way does this mean to sell on NP you have to use NP escrow but for a guy like Jamminsports who got screwed out of $30 he could have said I want this NP Escrow or I will not buy from a new member with 0 tr rating.

Sounds like a good idea equity, I think the fee you suggest is reasonable (as long as those who don't have enough NP$ at the time are able to 'loan' them then pay after the sale).

With the Registrar thing - NP could just register an account at each of the main registrars, we would then simply push to that one - keeps the name under the same registrar for quickness and ease (and keeps costs down).

Great idea, we do need something like this. :tu:
