I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

Yep, that is why I used the word "may". Blinken didn't commit to anything, just said it could happen.

No mention of specific sanctions. No mention of timeline.
There are many layers of sanctions and severity.

This is what was actually said by Tony Blinken -

"We'll be looking to see what Ukraine is doing and what it wants to do, and if it concludes that it can bring this war to an end, stop the death and destruction and continue to assert its independence and its sovereignty, and ultimately, that requires the — the lifting of sanctions, of course, we'll have that," he said.

Sooner or later some sanctions will have to be lifted if Russia is going to be part of the modern world. The actual sanctions and timeline would need to be discussed and would be highly contingent on their behavior.

I don't object to sanctions being part of the negotiations. Joe Biden and China will support Russia. Germany may support Russia. I don't have a well informed opinion on the subject.

In the long run, it doesn't matter what Hillary says but she wants Putin out of the G20. My disdain for Hillary is well known but it I can't think of anything she has accomplished or been correct about.

I doubt anyone is going to be in a major rush to lift sanctions any time soon on war criminals.

That is what it seems like Blinken was referring to. If it is part of their agreement, it makes it kind of difficult for NATO or the US to veto it.

We will have to see what happens. I think there should be targeted goals, and a slow rollback of sanctions over time if they are met. I don't think anyone is really supporting some fast rollback of all (or most) sanctions.

Actually it was the requirement to be vaccinated to keep your job AFTER the worst of the pandemic.

The truckers thought it was unfair, they were right. Their protest was ham-fisted but it was the straw that broke the back of Government overreach.

Leaders from around the world, especially the USA took notice.

The war in Ukraine kind of put into perspective what actual suffering is...not fake culture war victimhood nonsense. It really took the wind out of the sails of the stupid movement. Their "trucker rally" in DC went over like a wet fart.

But we can't give up on Humanity yet because there are always two sides to the coin,

There is as much chance for the World to be saved as there is for it to be destroyed and a lot of that depends on what we do going forward from here.

The bottom line is the major issue in the world is resource disparity.
There is no way to solve that without some type of redistribution of wealth and resources.

That will go over like a lead balloon in any modern country.

Many people drawn to power though have sociopathic tendencies and a complete lack of moral compass...AKA they are not in power to help anyone but themselves.

There are enough resources on earth and if needed perhaps in the rest of the solar system for us all to use for a very long time. All we have to do is to manage them properly.

The biggest problem that we have is that our civilization has evolved under the influence of forces that we have had no control over and thus far nature has taken the shortest path to make things work regardless of if it was to our liking or not.

But now we are at the point that we can use our intelligence to remake humanity in a way that can make life more comfortable for all of us.

Although we have to pass through one last barrier before we can gain full control over our own welfare and destiny and that is to get over this next couple of decades in one piece without destroying ourselves.

A new round of sanctions is in the works due to war crimes and atrocities shown to the world, committed by Russia against the Ukrainian people.

It was just a red-herring afterall, all mandates have been removed (even though we are entering a new wave of Covid and infections are spiking rapidly).

Not everyone has the same beliefs, ideas, culture, values, morals, motivations, etc. That is how free will works.

Money/religion/territory - all wars throughout history have been for 1 of these reasons, sometimes for all 3 at once.

Money - Is what drives humanity to progress, but money also brings out the worst of humanity too.

Religion - I don’t think there’s any place for organised religion in the 21st century, organised religion is corrupt and all religion does is encourage division, in my opinion people should just believe/worship in a higher power in their own way.

The terrorists torture, rape and execute 400 civilians with hands tied and then the terrorist-in-chief say that they didn't. Nothing new and no one expected a different reaction from the russian Hitler.

Since the beginning of the invasion and aggression, the Russian Hitler has claimed that he was going to "denazify" (the current Hitler!) Ukraine, that they do not target civilian buildings, that all bombing of civilians is done by Ukraine, and that Ukraine is massacring its own people.
