The world is in chaos: The Russia-Ukraine issue, Israel and it's issue with the Middle east, growing tensions between nations, and violent protests/behaviors in Africa, etc, etc.

The propaganda machines are well oiled and the media is constantly reporting on war, violence, killings, etc

Is this the beginning of World War 3?

Me too.:(

After the Great Depression, we had WW2, which helped certain nations gain more power as a result.

The recent "Great Recession", looks like it will be followed by some kind of war. I do hope that this does not happen.

Here is an interesting History Channel documentary about WW2- viewing it from Space.

Who knows? The beginnings of WWIII may have started with the beginnings of the Internet.

Eventually I think there is destined to be a regional conflict stretching from Iran to Syria, maybe down through Saudi Arabia. There's just too many people itching to fight to the death. God help the region once Iran builds a dirty bomb or two... they won't deliver it personally, maybe, but it wouldn't be a surprise to me if somehow materials were 'stolen' by a rogue Islamic group for use against Israel or D.C..

Hamas will make sure there is never a peace with Israel, anytime progress is made towards some form of mutual government, Hamas kills off the moderates, or throws missiles over the border, something to disrupt the peace.

I just can't shake the feeling that eventually something really, really bad is going to happen over there. I hope I am wrong!

There's no doubt that "eventually" something is going to happen, vey bad or very good. My opinion is that we are thinking in the wrong way by simply watching events simply play out. For one thing, rifles and bombs are not going to even come close to the violence and chaos that a total breakdown in computer systems will bring...shutting down the power grid in winter will spark a new kind of revolution with the goal of survival. The violence of survival instincts can be much worse than religious beliefs, plus, the violence will come from within.

On the other hand, a discovery/invention of something that makes life better might go a long way, something like true cold fusion that would bring unlimited cheap energy globally.
