I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

IMO

The problem that we have here is the fact that Russia has already proven its willingness to go to the extremes, while NATO as powerful as it is, but it pretty much has been playing defensive thus far.

What would you expect members of NATO and EU to do? They have not been attacked. The TRUTH is more effective than missiles IMO.

And by NATO I mean the European Countries that want to sit on the sidelines while expecting US to defend them.

The push on US arms exports dipped last year. This quarter will make up for losses. 🤫

Peace out. :beaver:

I am hearing Russia has taken control of or destroyed those bio labs. This is good news.

Did you hear that on gabb? US far-right echo chamber created biolab hoax, picked up by Kremlin and amplified.

I agree , Nukes are the only issue really , if there were no Nukes , NATO would have already squashed the war

Nukes are not the only issue. Russia has a full arsenal ie. biological weapons etc.

I think Putin has tunnel vision right because there is no exit for him IMO

He never had an exit plan to begin with IMO and will continue with his mad objective. One idea that has been floated, is making western Ukraine a humanitarian safe zone. The mass exodus of refugees is destabilizing Europe.

For the people who think China is some major ally to Russia, and can't see the writing on the wall...

I will say this once again, China's ties to western consumerism are their life blood. It is what their economy runs on. They are not going to risk all they have done building their country up into a financial superpower to ally with Russia in any major way. Everyone can see this conflict is going very badly for Russia.

Chinese state media reporting Russian war crimes in Ukraine... 👀 https://t.co/C0enPuuMfX

Second time today Chinese state media is airing a segment critical of Russia's war.

Chinese state affiliated media just conveying Blinken's statement

This is aimed at English speaking nations, what is Chinese version reporting? If its the same then this could be big.

Sorry for the delayed response, I had to take a nap so that I wouldn't get overly tired.

As I had mentioned before China has a difficult choice to make,

We have to see if they are going to be able to do a balancing act between their economical interests which clearly is to have the West as a trading partner and their political interests and agendas which is to protect themselves from those in the West that want to undermine their government and prevent them from becoming a stronger superpower.

You have to understand that all the major powers in the World regardless of whether we consider them to be good or bad are and have been engaged in a negative and destructive competition with each other behind the scenes over the years and as such are constantly trying to undermine one another even during the peace times and this is really at the root cause of many of the problems that we are facing today.

We always see the World leaders smiling and shacking hands with each other out in the open, but at the same time most are constantly plotting against one another behind the scenes which if it continues can cause more distrust and hostilities to come to surface more often which is going to result in shattering the false sence of security that people seem to have about things.

You need to ask yourself why would China be spending so much money on modernizing their Military if all they wanted was to advance their peaceful trade and economical interests.

As the matter of fact it seems that China has been using its good economical relations with the West in the past couple of decades to build up its army even more instead of investing in some peaceful projects such as trying to eliminate hunger and disease in some of the less affluent Countries.

At the end of the day you have to accept the fact that China might feel more at home with Russia than with the West.

IMO

Why do America do that? And they spend x3 more on their military.

Even though China are more powerful, Russia are more of a loose cannon and a threat to world security than China, i know many people fear China as an up coming superpower, but they haven't started a war on anyone.

There's been lots of territorial disputes over the years, but to me it seems like Taiwan is the only territory they would be prepared to use military force for, but they haven't yet.

I'm not trying to paint a picture as China are a force of good, they are not, corrupt/ruthless government with terrible human rights record, but in terms of a threat to the world, I don't think they are a Russia.

As far as I can see, China already made their choice. Western sanctions on Russia have forced their hand.

It appears all nations are beefing up their military atm. US outspends all other nations on weapons of war.

You ought to ask why does US spend more on defense than the next 11 countries combined?

They also have 30% of the world's population to feed.

At the end of the day you have to accept the fact that China might feel more at home with Russia than with the West.

Who is more dependent on who? The fact is, China has a huge domestic market that is constantly diversifying, they need only Russian resources. IIRC, US exports accounts for <20% of China's foreign trade.

There is really no choice for China to make. They need the western trade partners far more than Russia.
This conflict did really force their hand, as you said.

Russia had a 1.6T GDP (pre-sanctions). US is around over $23T. The rest of NATO is around $20B.

They also hold a lot of foreign debt. It would be an absolutely train wreck if they sided with Russia in any major way politically.

So much money is relative. As @Cannuck pointed out the US spends as much on military as the rest of the 10 largest countries combined. It is a massive, bloated expense... I would prefer to spend far less and have universal access to quality healthcare.

Also, when it comes to their military China really only has the soldier advantage. Their equipment both in technology and quantity is not nearly as advanced as their economy is. They are trying to modernize that.

China has their own financial issues as well. As their growth slows down, and population ages, the 1.5B population goes from an asset to a crushing financial burden.

Can you hear me now???

Ukraine killed a Russian general after he made an unsecured call that gave away his location, report says

  • A Russian general was killed after Ukrainian forces intercepted and geolocated his call, reports say.
  • According to reports, he was forced to use an unsecure network to communicate.
  • 4 Russian generals have been killed during its stalled military advance in Ukraine.

The reason I shared this information is to demonstrate how poorly the invasion is going and the cluster f*** that seems to have befallen the senior command. I'm afraid this will eventually push the 'little steroid hitler' into a chem, bio or nuke response.

I hope our (NATO) and/or their (Russia) special ops can neutralize the cause of this global problem. I know there are honorable and honest Russian citizens/politicians that could guide the country into a better existence...it is just not clear to me how they would ascend to power.

The Chinese leaders are much worse than Russia, and have designs on global domination. Just a couple months ago, a military leader on a state broadcast gleefully described dropping nuclear weapons on Japan, not once, but daily. The only reason they are not supporting Russia here is because this was not part of their game plan. They are not going to follow Putin off the rails at the expense of their long term plans.

Americans are being naive if they think the Chinese leadership is not willing to sacrifice their economy for power. They absolutely will. Likely, China is trying to play this game so that a weakened Russia will fall completely under their control.

That they haven't started a war recently (since Tibet and Vietnam) is only because they will start the war when they are good and ready. They have already demonstrated their intent by seizing the land of smaller sovereign nations around them - even stealing land from already tiny and peaceful Bhutan.

China's power is their economy though, not their military. I don't see how it gives them more power by tanking it and breaking financial partnerships with western nations.

It would hurt them as much, or more than others.

China will be there to buy Russian assets for "pennies on the dollar" when they collapse though. I have no doubt about that.

Spot on assessment. After the Putin statues and pictures are long gone, the average Russian will be paying for his actions for years (most likely to the Chinese).

That they haven't started a war recently (since Tibet and Vietnam) is only because they will start the war when they are good and ready.
Russia (Putin) thought in relatively short term results. The Chinese have a long history of waiting decades for an end game to play out...short term gains are rarely, if ever, part of their plans.

China has a history of dodging trade restrictions. They will sidestep sanctions and continue like business as usual.
