Won a pool auction ~ Should I be worried?

It appears I have won an auction at pool.com. By my standards the name is huge. So I'm nervous. Are people still having the same old trouble at Pool? I read somewhere that someone won a name there that was never available in the first place, and stuff like that. Scares the H3LL out of me. I actually came in second but the the party who won couldn't fund it, so it went to me.

The name is registered at enom - but also lists registar.com ?? And is reg'd thru Jan 2011. Shoudn't it be expired, or expiring, or something?

Also, I won it for peanuts - it is worth a small peanut farm.

Should i be worried?

I hope i'm wrong as would love to see you win, BUT

i never use pool as they are incompetent and some say shysters.
Avoid at all costs.
Do let us know either way.
I'll keep fingers crossed for you, like to hear of successes for the small guy :$:

i have never had troubles at pool but i never saw a non-paying bidder, i mean everytime i won a name it was because i was the highest bidder; i didnt know if the highest bidder dont pay the name goes to the 2nd as it doesnt work like that at namejet or snapnames (they re-run the auction)

if the name is reg'd until 2011 it was put FSBO and if he/she just gave up of selling?
i think it is a possibility

when you won it?

good luck

But if it was FSBO wouldn't it likely say so on Whois or on the web site for the domain?

Pool sent me an email this morning. I think the auction ended on Friday.

Arnie, I'm sorry to hear you would not use us anymore, if you have the inclination I'd appreciate hearing more of your comments, feel free to email me direct as well.

Cheers

I believe he is.

The domain in question was 0nlineLoans.com. Somebody won it for $2000 but didn't pay. I had bid $80 when it was in pending status (i think) just to get in on it and then proceeded to forget all about it - until I was notified that I could have it for $80 since the top bidder opted out. That's when I wrote the OP.

I then got on the phone w/a rep from pool. He could not find any record of onlineloans.com but did find a 0nlineloans.com - the first character being a zero. That's what I won for my $80 and I then too opted to forfeit the prize.

A somewhat embarrassing mistake but not one I'm likely to repeat.
