With .eu honesty does not pay ?

Just had confirmation from DD24 of the names that I had pre regged that will be entered in to the .eu landrush.

I had pre regged 217 names , not particularly generic or major keywords with a view to standing a better chance of getting a few.

I have 25 names out of the 217 that will be in the landrush :td:

All the others have been tm'd or whatever. It would appear that if any of us had decided to enter spurious claims on a name chances are we would have got it. I chose not too foolishly expecting Eurid / Price Waterhouse to at least make some sort of effort to weed out the cr-p.

That was stupid of me. :(

Entered 148 so far- 123 are in the no.1 position in the queue. Well thats of course only with this particular registrar. Am entering approximately 20 to 30 names a day now. It,s almost become a fulltime job as I sit here behind my computer every day burning my brains and checking for availibility and popularity. Oh well since I,m jobless since end of last year I have the time. With a bit of luck I might never have to work again if this .eu thing works out for me.

You have done well if you have not "lost" any to tms etc :?

Has your registrar updated yet following the sunrise applications :?

yes anyone who played honestly and waited for the landrush has been completely shafted.
binaryman, .eu is not going to make you rich and you probably won't get a single domain. All the most valuable domains have been taken by a few individuals who registered thousands of fake trademarks just before the sunrise began.

Of 4000 domains I was interested in, only the 500 with the least value are now available.

If the general chicken-little attitude is in fact born out by the facts, wouldn't that seem to point to the .eu extension being almost "dead in the water", so to speak, if no one but domainers got the great names? I know now that nothing frustrates me more than a parked page when I'm looking for the real site (the amazing race . com , I'm talking to you), and if that's all .eu is going to be (One big parking lot...), I can't imagine it being a huge hit...

Sorry to hear of the disappointing results to date, of course.

I agree, parking , parking & more parking.

Eurid had a great opportunity to nail this down by taking their time and really looking at the potential downside and weeding out the chaff - they will make their money initially but they blew the opportunity for an "honest" tld release bigtime.

Big thumbs down for Eurid / Price Waterhouse and the .eu :td: :td: :td:
