.eu Landrush 2

Well...that depressing time is upon us again. The 7th of June (tommorrow) is when landrush 2 starts and it is inevitable all the good names will go to those fake registrars again, leaving the eu population robbed and EurId seem oblivious to this happening.

Also, it is really annoying me that "Parknet BV" have applied for countless names and apparently have rights to over 500 of them

Views on tommorrows landrush?

'Dear partner,

may we inform you that the registration of .eu domains is not possible at the moment! It will be available as soon as our queue is sent completely to Eurid (about 3 p.m.).'

3 p.m!!! some will have regged, put on Sedo, sold and gone to the pub by then!

I just checked my list at my registrar but i see nothing coming up yet. I guess i have to check them manually if this is already possible?

Depressing indeed... there was just one domain name I really wanted, I ordered it through united-domains.de, pool.com, schlund.de, domaindiscount24.de, regfish.com and still, someone else grabbed it through realtime.at. BTW, eurodns.com never showed this name as being available even when whois.eu said it was FREE, did they have some internal queue, too?

What a waste of time! The .eu domain would have been perfect for a web shop advertised as "the European <product> discounter", looks like we're going to stick with .lu now.

A large portion where accredited to yet another ghost registrar. Ovidio Limited has gotten some very nice domains by setting up fake registrars evidently since the registrar(s) listed in the WHOIS details do not exist in the official list of Eurid of official accredited registrars.

I feel for you man. It is so annoying that someone takes a name which they will obviously not use. Like, i wanted dundee.eu so badly i ordered it in about 9 different places and someone from holland got it :td:

It appears that Ovidio are the company behind the 400 (maybe more if some are not listed) New York registrars.

In a way, anyone who got names in landrush 1 can count themselves lucky. It's now clear that Ovidio also planned to destroy the opposition on that occasion, but must have suffered a technical meltdown.

Their systems did not come online until all the good names had already gone, and they ended up taking junk like stalkers.eu and dailynationkenya.eu
