Why?

I got a droplist through my email.

I wanted to backorder one of the ones on there but when I did with Godaddy it says the domain is set to expire next year, even tho the Whois info says otherwise?

Anyone had this before?

This has happened to me with some domains also, and it happens because there were no nameservers that were set for the domain you were looking up.

Yeah, I've gotten these emails too.

I believe registrars can drop domains before the expiry date, they may do this for example if someone does not pay their invoices to the company.
