How much until deletion?

I have been watching a domain that has recently got expired. WHat I mean is that the whois says it expired few days ago and the status says "pending renewal or deletion".

If I check it at the registrars it says that the domain is already taken.

How much does the deletion take? Is it worth trying to backorder the domain?

It usually takes exactly 80 days for the domain to expire, so if the domain was registered somewhere on the start of the year it should expire today or tomorrow.

Wait until it gets deleted and then hand register it, or back order it (if it's worth it). If the domain is good it will probably be back ordered at many registrars, that way it's hard you will get it. :/

all registrars usually provide their customers with up to 15-30 days of grace period to renew expired domains, afterwards these domains are offered to the owner at higher price and can be even sold at an auction! Sometimes it can take up to 90 days for a domain to be available in web again. Each registrar has its own policy!

Most likely it's a domain registered with network solutions. It could be available at namejet.com soon.

If the Domain Name is so much of value to you...might as well check with the back ordering service providers rather than you waiting for the Domain Name to drop so that you could register....

I usually renew my domains with GoDaddy in time and have never checked how many days they provide to renew expired domains!

Depends on the registrar. It could be half that.
