Why pay more than $60 for a Snap?

I don't get it. Why do people initially bid more than $60 for a domain at Snapnames? If you bid $60 and the domain doesn't get any other bidders, you get it for the lowest price. If there are other bidders and it goes to auction, you still get a chance to raise your bid. Am I missing something?

For the large buyers it's probably to hard to watch a bunch of names so they put in their max bid on most names at first I would assume.

Yea, that confused me too. and namemogul's explanation is possible.

This way you start off as the high bidder. If someone then outbids you, Snapnames sends an email, informing you.

Helps when you have lots of domains in auction.
