Why is Sedo and Afternic Traffic Different?

I've got a question and, although it may sound stupid, it really stumps me.
Why would certain names get good payment traffic at one site, yet hardly anything on another. Then, another few names just the opposite?

Example: I had 4by.net on Sedo for 3 months and got an average of $2.50/mo. I then moved it to Afternic and it averaged $28/mo for 90 days. I just sold it for $500.

Another name, Pick1.com; on Sedo it averages $9/mo.; on Afternic $1.10/mo.

I have many other examples, but don't quite understand the big difference.

There are lots of reasons this could be the case. Obviously it's best to test a domain out at several parking services to see which one is most profitable for that domain. I have seen the same thing happen with countless domains.

Keep in mind that Sedo allows you to customize your keywords. So the links displayed at one parking service won't be the same links that are displayed at another. Some links generate clicks, others do not. Also, they use different tracking software so it's possible some of your traffic "falls through the cracks" at one place and not the other. Like I said, it's usually best to just test your domains at a few parking places and see which one works best for each domain.

Hope this helps.

Personally I like sedo better, though i have never used any O_O. From those stats I may decide start to use afternic :)

The best strategy is to always move the worst performers to another account. I use sedo, Domainhop and goldkey. Just started with afternic.

So my take is that some domains do better at some parking services, and some do better at others. I like the idea of moving your bad performers to a differnt ppc service.
Sedo is nice because you can manage/change the keywords for your domain. So if Sedo is working for you, except for a particular domain, a keyword change may be all you need.
