I want to know that where should I sell my domain through auction. Which one is better (Godaddy, sedo, afternic)? I am talking about the premium one. Actually I have a low budget and I can invest my money only in 1 premium listing. So, is it GODADDY or SEDO or AFTERNIC?

I'm personally not a fan of paying for increased exposure.

However with that said, I have paid for a featured home page listing at GD in the past, for a domain I knew was going to sell and set the price with a low start.

I think the fee was $20.... It really comes down to the domain itself, and whether there is any reasonable likelihood of interest with the extra eyeballs. Otherwise your just throwing money away which I think some domain owners are doing judging by some of the names I've seen "featured" there.

Haven't paid for listings at the other venues you mentioned so can't comment on their effectiveness.

I think it all really comes down to the quality of the domain.

Sedo is really expensive imo, Flippa is insane unless you own a top premium domain, I have no experience with Afternic and I think Godaddy is quite fair about listing fees as they give you a free option as well.

Good Luck!

Not talking about premium listings but I have had the most success out of the three from GoDaddy. Most of my sales this year have been through GoDaddy.

Since GoDaddy recently purchased Afternic, you can now consider them the same company. I think GoDaddy have said that their premium sales will remain through Aftenic. So I would use them.

I have done premium listings with sedo before and never really found it all that effective. I believe as well like others have mentioned, what it really comes down to is how good your domain is. If it is a good name, people will have no problem finding it.

better to get a free appraisal for the domain, before thinking of spending money on a service that won't produce a sale.

in perfect world, you should only submit a domain to auction, after an offer has been submitted that you'd consider accepting.

imo...

just purchase godaddy auctions membership, it's really cheap like 5-6$ per year, you get to post free listings of various types and only premium listings cost you, that too are really cheap as compared to any other service, and the fact that your listings also get exposure on afternic.com

for me

1. afternic
2. godaddy
3. sedo

godaddy gets lot of traffic but get more sales on afternic

I prefer Afternic, I just had better luck there for some reason.

I am trying afternic out but I can't say anything about them apart from being slow to approve domains ( DNS is much much faster ).
Recently Flippa lowered their fees and this would make the platform more attractive for every kind of domainer.

Does "lower fees" really mean anything if they allow employees to bid against customers, thereby driving up prices? I was under the impression Flippa's policy allows their employees to bid against customers, as long as the SELLER knows about it. Duh, ya think the seller is going to complain that employees are driving up prices?

Anyway, if I'm wrong here, and if Flippa doesn't allow their own employees to bid against customers, then "lower fees" might mean something real. But if I'm right, then any "lower fees" claims are possibly nothing but vapor, effectively.

You want to bid against the auctioneer's employees? I don't.
