Hey guys,

I'm wondering why Snapnames (I've noticed it with the other domains) will change from bidders of 0 to bidders of - ?

Is this because of the status of the domain? It still will say order by with a date & available soon etc.

Thanks for the help.

I've found that when this happens I'm never the only bidder on a name.

But I can't confirm that this is so.

And why would Snap want to hide that there are 3, 4, bidders, etc?

Are there special members bidding?

Skinny,

What do you mean by "special bidders"?

I don't know? :). I meant VIP or something.

Like I successfully backordered one name 1 day before deletion and it showed me as the only bidder 1.

But other times I've been monitoring thename to see if it deletes and at first it will show 0 (3-4 days before deletion) but as I get closer to the drop it shows "-" instead of a number.

Now why the change?

Anytime I've backordered these names I have faced multiple bidders.

I'm not sure if that is a coincidence or not? Or maybe its because the domain enters pending delete status?

But not all domains do this some I'm a little confused.

This might be related to a technical reason at database level. For instance when you sort domains starting from low bid to high bid, you don't want zero bids to be included.

I have a similar problem on my website with alexa ranks. Most domains have no alexa rank. When I sort according the alexa rank I want small numbers to appear on top because the lower the alexa rank, the better the domain. If an expiring domain has 12,314 alexa rank this would be very good for that domain. However, right now I have a technical problem and all those with no rank appear on top when sorted.

I don't know but I sure like it. This way lazy people have to do their own research instead of clicking to look for domains with bidders. This is something I don't like about namejet. It would be better if this data could be provided to people who already bidded on a particular domain. So lazy people can start doing their own research. 1+ for Snap!
