Why are the smallest sales The biggest pain

I've got three domain sales in negotiation . but it's always the smallest sale that gives me the biggest of headaches. I know it's because they are usually the least aware of the transfer process etc.
but, I just had one of the rudest. Replies to my emails, asking me to explain the sales and transfer process. tells me he's ignorant of the whole process, Then bloody well accuses me off taking up his time. Well now I've told him to go through Sedo - read their Bloody T&C's and stop taking his bad day out on me.

I only contacted him after having a lower Sedo bid and thought I'm sure this Guy would take it at around 40% more.(and no fees) even cancelled the original listing. Now I hope the original potential buyer sees the revised fixed price and snaps it up. before Mr pain in the arse gets to see the revised listing. He can stick with the minor extension for his property empire. that should have warned me how clued-up he was from the begining

Yeah it's my own fault for wanting a bit more for a domain. and I should've realised when he asked why should he want his one (made-up) word business name, even at a mid xxx price Yet he had an excellent website, so I suggested he discussed with his website builder, Now he's on board but wants quite rightly to stay in the email loop. then complains about too many (4 emails)...
it's not his complaint but the wording he used - I feel bloody sorry for any wife that has to put-up with that short a fuse

The literal answer to your question is that the bigger sales don't bother you nearly as much, even if the buyer is a pain, because you know that you are being paid well to deal with the frustration :)

Yes, it's also true that the completely clueless buyer is unlikely to engage in a bigger sale. Fact is that frustrating sales will come along, best to just get through them (or delegate them) as fast as possible so that you can move on to the less frustrating.

ha ha, yes E-Promote, I've delegated this one to Sedo I wouldn't mind but I spent more time answering his questions, Then uses 50 words to insult me but, tells me he still wants the domain

Perhaps he thought he was talking to the wife

Even if he was the only sale on the block, and I needed it. I'd tell him to go find some better manners before contacting you again. Tell him to go F himself.

Raise the price with a BIN only listing and when he says he wants it again, send him a link to the Sedo page and tell him they now have exclusive marketing of the name.

Yeah - I've cooled down myself now Stub but after really going out of my way to make him feel comfortable about the whole transaction, Letting him know I'd had the domain for eleven years and it was a good purchase from a usage point of view.

Thing is there's several companies using this made-up word in the UK. It really only came to the forefront of my attention due to the Sedo offer. Shame I picked the wrong one to run with even originally offered the transfer prior to payment - so In a way I'm glad I've seen that side of him. Now any kindness or trust is definitely off the table. .

That was my initial thoughts but I've listed it at the fixed agreed price plus a percentage of Sedo fees. like we all know, we all have to take the good with the bad I just so happened to be posting as his abusive email came through. Bloody ruined my day - well an hour. I'm probably more pissed-off that it wasn't done and dusted first, then he can call me all the names he wants to.

ps - He has since sent an apology - I've just said there was no need for any further communications

This is why I like BIN sales with registrar pushes and account payments for anything under $1,000. You wake up inthe morning, and the money is in your account - no hassles.

With regards to the education of users, I think the best idea is to have your own information pages, and refer the user to those.

Instalments were the greatest hassle for me. Got them over the line eventually. One guy kept changing the plan. However with HugeDomains offering it, it's clearly got to be done.

If the plan was underway, then there is no changing the plan. other than receiving the domain once again into your control :)

Have a mid-$XXX sale in process but yes the buyer seems to not check their emails but once a week so the escrow transaction is on the verge of timing out. Given the number of follow-up emails I have had to send this buyer and we still are not finished, perhaps a Godaddy commission makes sense for smaller transactions.

Quelque chose, thankfully the sale is now complete so there'll be no need for me to take the domain back.
