I notice that .io are getting real popular especially in the developers and gaming industry. I understand why in the developer's but why are the gaming community so interested in the .io??.

Right now i have cher.io and ggw.io in auction at flippa but i need to promote the auction and im wondering where is the best place to promote .io besides github?

I'm also wondering what is best for flipping .io or .com from my experience i see that .io are beater in the aspect of good names being still available but they are expensive and .com are cheap besides everyone prefers the .com

So can you give me your opinions on this subject?

thank's in advance.

While it's true that there are more words available in .io than .com, the amount of relevant keywords are pretty slim. The demographics for the .io market are limited to certain niches, whereas .com speaks to a much wider audience, and the renewal fee is cheap.

If you do invest in .io, you need to be relevant and make decisions that make sense and are worth renewing until a buyer is found.

Impressive that you like .io . IMO Dot io is good extension if you want to register your company or personal domain but these kind of extensions are not good fit for domainers because of registration and renewal fees.

.io have high renewal and registration fee. For regular flipping, it is of not much good though there are always gems you can invest in. 3LLL.io seem to have good value

Correct, currently have one domain .io, but I don't invest into this. I also see that this extension is so popular day by day, I think it stands for in/out, input/output, import/export and it's very easy to remember, short with 2 characters I/O.

I think, .com still does better. .io could be a good option though if you have the right kind of IT business.

.COM is better though .IO is growing among startups.

thanks for all of your opinions.

im buying expired domains and fast flipping them. They arent aged domains, but since they are expired they still receive traffic so i like to park them at domainsponser for some day's so i can take a screenshot and show it has proof they still receive traffic, that's what i currently doing for my flippa auction of ggw.io and cher.io

i feel like flippa is currently the best place to sell .io especially 3 LLL.io, what category/industry do you think sell's better for .io?

i invested in .com and been selling them to. some are in afternic but i feel that afternic isn't getting to much attention.

some of my .com like

computorgames.com

gamesforlinux.com

usfederalbanking.com

and
universalwebdevelopment.com

are great domains that i thinking will sell for a good amount. Im thinking off listing them for sale but dont know where's the best place to list them where they will the more attention. Got any ideas??

im thinking of auction them here at namepros or at flippa but im open to suggestions.

thanks

If the names are valuable enough, the venue is not as important. However, I think the .coms you listed might be a hard sell....

.io domains are very popular in tech & gaming industry. Personally, I prefer .io extension over .com for my projects.

Sorry but I don't see the value for these domains above. Maybe it's hard to sell quickly.

Most of the higher priced .io sales seem to be through Sedo. But Flippa seems to be the best marketplace to move .io's consistently.

thank's you guy's are giving me good information.

for .io i think i got good perception on which one are wort good money because i know the industry that are looking for .io and there are lot's of good 1 word .io out there.

but for .com i dont think i have good intuition on wich domains have good value because the 1 word's .com are almost all taken, and im not ready to buy .com in auction and flip them. Im not ready to invest in great amount of money in 1 word .com auctions.

So i see you guy's have good perception on .com domain's value and which one can be sold on auction fast.

Can you guys give me some tips on how to value .com 2 words domains????

I usually go after expired .com domains that are keywords with high search volume on adwords and that the keywords are of industry's/categories with high CPC.

I thought that the .com domains that i mention would sell fast on flippa for at least 200$ each. But for what you tell me they dont have great value can you explain why you think that and give me some examples of 2 words .com that can be sold fast and for at least 200$ to 1000$??

one more question is namepros a good place to sell .com or .io domains???

once again thank you

Why do you say that sedo is the place where high priced .io are being sold??.

I went do namebio and search for .io and find that most high priced .io sales are being made at flippa some at sedo but majority are at flippa

Hi Rafaelo,

You're right that Flippa do have some top sales.

What I mean is that Flippa seem to do more io sales, but If you look at the NameBio data, there are over 6 pages of $100 sales, while Sedo has a few low XXX sales, but a higher average selling price.

Hope that clears it up.
