We have often seen people share their sell-through rates. I would like to know the other side - how often do you drop domains? what is your process like?

What makes you drop a domain name after years of holding it? Do y'all wait for the final reminder from your registrar until the last day of grace period to renew your names?

Rarely, but if the data shows that there isn't sufficient interest in the domain for it to sell at a price that is worth your time, then it's time to let it go.

For example, if a domain is unlikely to sell for more than $1k, then it might not be worth your time, but it could be worth another investor's time, so let it go and let someone else earn a modest profit on it by trading their time for it.

Each investor will have a different process depending on where they are in their journey.

Every renewal is a buy decision. You're not "keeping" a name, you're buying it again. That's how you stay objective and avoid the sunk‑cost trap.

I've rarely dropped anything over multiple decades. Not because I shouldn't but because was too profitable that it was just easier to I don't have time right now just renew it all so not the most optimized strategy. :xf.grin:
