In my opinion, domaining requires keeping up with what goes on in the industry. I think it is essential to be as informed as possible. Articles on domain blogs, particulary those listed on Domaining.com, are generally very informative. How often do you read articles from such blogs? Daily, weekly, monthly, not at all?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I read some every now and then. basically if I am just sitting here with time on my hands and come across something of interest to me really. Mainly domaining dot com emails.

Daily... it's vital to stay up to date with industry news and recent sales if you're serious about this business.

The key is to actually apply everything you read that you find useful instead of throwing it away in the garbage.

There is always room to learn and grow in any industry, and I truly value that. If you read up on a subject for an hour every day consistently for a long period, then eventually you're bound to surpass many of the people that are above you in knowledge and have stopped reading up on current events ;)

On a daily basis.

I would have to say I read over 10 articles across various blogs daily, as well as posts from members on NamePros with news pieces under "News". (Z.com was broken on NamePros here)

I don't limit myself to just blogs, rather sites like Forbes and the like as well. This shows trending products, etc. that could make it and have available hand registrations up for grabs (if you're quick enough and make a split second decision).

In addition to all of this, I read domain name discussions with trends and sales here. I research those trends and invest wisely.

Blogs aren't the only resources to look into. Learn from other peoples mistakes and get a head start.

I've made plenty of mistakes, but have recovered myself.

The more you read, the better you can implement a plan for yourself by using pieces that worked for other domain investors.

There is no reason why you can't spend 4 hours of your day reading and 4 hours scouring for your next investment if you want to turn this into a full time lucrative job.

G'Luck

not very often for me, but something I will do more often in the future. :)

I personally don't read many articles anymore.

When I started out I was researching daily, but now I only pay attention to reported sales.

On average 5-10 blogs on a daily basis, I kinda enjoy it :)

Last year and probably earlier this year I would have said almost daily. Then I was just burned out on them. One I forgot entirely, almost overnight. Another very prominent one now does little more than pump endless gTLDs day upon day. Bye to them. There's only one left that I can rely on.

it has a D and a N and then a third letter that comes after V.

I follow Domaining.com feeds and scour through interesting articles published.

After this, I go through TechCruch's newsletter feed for interesting articles, once that is done withI move on to Quora to read some interesting question/answers.

Other than that, I read quite a lot here at NP!

It's a must, read & learn!

Aye, daily for me too, from all various sources - blogs, news sites, social media...
Its not super efficient as I scatter my attention to very different subject, not just domaining, but hosting, security, web-building applications etc. With such an influx of information I do tend to forget part of it and concentrate on the more important facts. Still, there are times in discussions where I can relate the subject to some interesting info I read so I can still pick my brain even for such otherwise forgotten stuff ;)

Never. I come here!

I don't actually visit any domaining blog sites but I read their blogs by subscribing to their feeds. If I see an interesting article here I would go to the website, assess it, and subscribe if I like it.

So in my ongoing effort to optimize and systematize my domaining (you know, treat it like a business), i created a feedly category for domain blogs so I can catch up on the days' news in one big swoop.

Looking for other stuff to add, but so far I've got:

Ok, so that's my small little list right now. Just wanted to share. I'll update when I find more that I want to follow daily. Feel free to drop recommendations to check out.
