No question NP is a free forum but it is still a community with over 75,000 members.

-RJ- has a lot of time and money invested in this forum amd the industry but it is the members that day in and day out make this a community.

If -RJ- needs money to run this forum then ask the members or come-up with something more creative then selling out to something which was certain to piss-off a percentage of the community's members.

As a community and industry leader I would have expected more from Namepros.

I am now using Namepros.mobi where it is still black and white. Are you?

NamePros.mobi is just text, blue, black and white for me. It is very simple, reminds me of the first forum/community sites from years back.. lol I'm a more visual person, a bit of an artist, and would rather deal with the bright colors than no colors at all.. lol However, thanks for pointing it out, I'd never visited the .mobi before and am sure it will come in handy for me sometime

From what I know of color Psychology, Orange stimulates appetite.

Yes, it makes NP harder to read. I agree. But hey, this is a great forum.
And dotcomguy, of course Rick paid NP for a service not to pimp up the look of Namepros. It is just ridiculous how far some people are going.

I dont know who Rick Latona is and I dont really care. I do find this sort of advertising very unprofessional and brash. It is kid like. I think it could have been done in a much better way that would have given Rick Latona what he hopes to gain. I think this kind of in your face is cheesy. Not my cup of tea. From all the marketing I know it may have the reverse affect of what he is hoping to gain.

But then I think the person responsible for that was a more reputed member of NP maybe? Or is it because there were all sorts of contests and prizes going on along with the change. Or was it because the colors were still very light and easy to read, still NPlike?

Agree, Although I think it will hurt NP more than it will hurt Rick... Just my 2 cents.

it's blue/white/snowish so it's cool, this one's hot and talking from the Philippines it's makes even hotter when you view namepros, little did I know the argument on the background will be much "hotter"

Oops! this theme really strains my eyes as I have CVS.
Thought of changing the theme in CP. But this seems to be the only option.

Quit whining. The internet is about making money.. PERIOD. Name Pros is not a forum that exists to be non-profit. No one in the community would be here if they weren't in the business of buying and reselling domains or websites for profit. No one wants to lose and that includes -RJ-. Congrats on a big sell and I think everyone else should take a moment to just calm down and realize this is temporary.

Actually, if you could knock out the bright red background and advert, the skin looks pretty nice.

I've managed to knock out the background ad using Adblock, which helps quite a bit.

Jagusa must be using some different kind of FireFox to me, I have no >Options menus under >Tools. OK. found the option under Preferences. It's a pain that you cannot target this to specific websites. I like the way some of my favorite website look. I don't need to drastically change them as well.
