I've never thought of GD as being slow when it comes to registering domains, but then again, I use GD all the time so I suppose I know what to expect and what not to click through!...

When buying domains at GD, at the bottom of the screen you'll get an option to "add" these "extras", just check no and continue!...

I use dd24 and it is really fast to both find the domains that are available and to register them with zero advertising.

internet.bs is pretty straight forward other than the 10 year default regs (it does prompt you to bulk change if you reg multiple though).

enom
namecheap

both are real-time and fast

i did a test here at work once, with a co-worker.

we both tried to reg the same domain at diff registrars.

they used gd and i used enom

i had regged the domain and it was live on the net, before they could get it to checkout at gd.

the "add extras" are the "adverts".

namecheap is faster than godaddy.

Name.com is the fastest and with the least number of clicks. I have never beaten Name.com back to their control panel before the domain is registered and configured. Believe me, they're fast.

I have not tested all of them for speed, but I have used directnic, godaddy, name.com, namecheap, domainsite, and a few others.

I can't register domains faster anywhere else than at Dynadot.com.

How this works for me first of all I have funds in my account. Because of this the payment part of the process is almost instantainous. When I know what domain I want I used the "Bulk Search" even for just one domain. Enter in your domain and check the option for "I entered fully qualified domain names." as this keeps it for doing anything more than just checking that the name(s) is available and click.

When the results come back quickly, scroll down and if your domain is available, it will be selected. Click the button for "Add and checkout", then click the button to "Submit my order" and bang, you registered the domain. It may take a few seconds for the domain to actually become registered and appear in your account, but it's really fast with no ads, upsales (except for an option to add privacy), or payment into to enter.

There are way too many clicks to go thru at Dynadot.

3 clicks are too many...? that's all it takes for me. Did you read my description of what I have to do to buy a domain...????

I know Dynadot well. They are my main provider of domains. Believe me. Name.com has fewer clicks and is faster overall, imho.

I've used Dynadot and Name extensively, and I use the above-mentioned method at Dynadot when I want to hand reg something ASAP. It is faster than Name for me, as it literally takes about 4 seconds. Now, if you compare the normal process at Dynadot with the normal process at Name, Name is faster...

More importantly, would you click 3 times to save $2? If so then you're being paid to click using GoDaddy or any other upselling registrar.

This is true, unless you qualify for Super Bulk Pricing at Dynadot, then the cost is much lower than the normal pricing.
