I have keywords with two phase, one ranking on in 100 while second one is ranking 500+.
Keywords is look like php programmer and php programmers, difference is only “s” at end of keywords.

Which keyword, I have to target for seo, so I can get my both keywords ranking on search engine.

Thanks!

if you want to get both keywords at the top by doing just one keyword seo ... Then do the one with the 's'.

With a difference of 1 's' means a lot, you will need to find out whether how much global/local searches per month for php programmer and php programmers is getting.

If e.g. php programmers have much more people searching for it as compared to php programmer, getting this keyword higher ranked in the SERPs will get you more traffic than php programmer.

Unless your strategy is to get your less compete keywords higher up in SERPs than go for those.

what I have understood is, hboss wants to get both the keyword on top by doing SEO on just one keyword.

If His main target is more conversion, then follow Elegant Designs advice. I will reckon to go with the one who has more searches. :)

I have found "PHP programmer" gets more traffic than the " php programmers"

Use google keyword tool to find out which one has more competition and higher search volume. I'm guessing it would be the one with the 's', but I could be wrong.
