domain Which name should I recommend?

In 2007, my buddy (who is also a client) is going to launch a new line of snowboards and associated extreme winter apparel. He asked me to come up with a few ideas for a name (brand) for his pet project.

I've come up with five potential names for his initiative. These are:

Airio (Airio.com)

Ripko (Ripko.com)

Fabeo (Fabeo.com)

Deefy (Deefy.com)

ProJoe (ProJoe.net)

Which name would you present to your client and why?

I like Ripko the best. It sounds the best and "rip" seems like a word to me that could be used by snowboarders.

Google confirmed my suspicion when I did a search for +rip +snowboard.

Airio might be out of the running as I have received a nice offer on sedo for it.

I like Airio, sounds like it could be a snowboarding air-jump trick. But as u r gonna sell, i wud say ripko.

Kinda like the average "joe" can become a pro
or at least look like one
and the "extreme" factor fits in it also..

Coming from a longtime snowboarder:

Ripko - too many similar companies...

Fabeo - way too much like Fabio...

ProJoe - the 'pro' hurts more than it helps...

Deefy - could work, but is not optimal, IMO...

Airio - not perfect, but the best of the lot...

At first glance I think both Airio & Ripko could be well suited to snowboarding.

I prefer Ripko as the rip part suggest - ripping, slicing, cutting, speed and energy.....zoom zoom :blink:

Short, easy to remember and also only 929 results in Google so it will be easier for customers to find :hehe:

I'll let this go for a day or two longer and then make my final decision.

Hmm, i agree that Airio and Ripko are good sounding names for this purpose, but I also think they would both be spelt differently without heavy branding advertising etc:

Aireo

When said aloud, I think many people would spell the names as per above, which may mean a loss of traffic.

It is for this reason I would personally recommend Deefy, which sounds a lot like a snowboard firm.

Didn't think about how they might typo the names. I really do like Airio though. If anything try out Ripko.com Instead of letting it roll of the tongue in one word brand it as Rip KO. Hope this helped you out.
