We have all heard the front running stories so my question is which is the safest registrar to run bulk checks. One that doesn't record the checks in their system and that you feel secure in checking names in bulk.

imo...

One that doesn't record the checks in their system? IDK.

I have used NameBright and Name both. My experience with them has been good.
As far as front running is concerned, I just see that while bulk checking at any place, the url starts with https, there is a pad lock symbol, and preferably the url turns green. If chrome says that the certificate is ok and the cryptography is fine, (obsolete/modern....modern is better), u are good to go!!!!!

Just get a third party software and run your checks through there.
You'll get a more detailed info, no-one will know what you check, and you can set as many domains as you like

just my opinion

DomainTools.com might be safeER than the others. Honestly, if you search and a name you like is free - register it. Get a $1.99 code and plop down two bucks for each name. If you dont use it then list it for sale. If it doesnt sell in a year and you've not received any traffic AND you dont want to try to sell it for another year (and renewal costs), then drop the name(s). Thats what I do and believe me, I've sold names I didnt intend on using but registered after a search. I would say 1/3 of them.

Are we talking bulk whois lookups or bulk availability checks? I'm assuming bulk availability checks, and I like NameCheap and DynaDot :)

Since the searches are sold by the .com Registry, Verisign, none of your searches are safe.

@awei - How do you know they aren't saving/selling your searches, just like the Registry is doing?

i dont know that
just much less people know what the domain means
for example, i whois chuzhongshu.com on whois.com
people who is reading this search has to know Chinese to get the point
also, the bar is higher if someone behide whois.22.cn try to reg my english domain search before me
