I want to reg a 3 word domain but .com is already taken. .net is avaliable. Also word1-word2-word2.com is avaliable. Which would be the better one ?

Anything is better than two hyphens. If you 'must' pick between the two presented options, go with .net. IMO.

.net over 2 hyphens for sure, but what about .net versus 1 hyphen dot com?

well its like eg :- DubaiDomainNames.net against Dubai-Domain-Names.com

also there are DubaiDomain-Names.com and Dubai-DomainNames.com. But they won't be good as the DubaiDomainNames.net or 2 hypen domain, would they ?

also there is this 2 word name eg :- Dubai-Domain.net would it be better ?

maybe my question was not clear, but that's not what i mean bluearrow.

What I was saying is example 1)GreenBuildings.net vs 2)Green-Buildings.com

which would be better

I would go with the three word .net over the double hyphens. Double hyphens just seem spammy too me and I seem to have better luck in terms of SEO going with the .net instead of double hyphens.

well pokainc, I think I mentioned in first post that the domain i want has 3 words in it. reason is 2 word domain related to that are already reg'ed and none available.

ok there is one left but its a .net with hypen ! like Green-Buildings.net

Thanks neobodni, I was wondering about seo thing too. but I thought hypen would rank better. Good to hear that your .nets rank well.

If you are developing register both. Develop/promote the .net and redirect the .com.

Personally speaking, I've never been a fan of hyphenated domain names coz I've had bad experiences with 'em. I'd say go in for the .net over 2 hyphens....
