Hello,

Which is better option for naming startups?

Starting a Domain name contest with Picky Domains/namestation etc by giving information about your startup. If you get an awesome suggestion :gn: it will costs only few bucks

Buying a Domain name from BrandBucket/Namerific/brandroot for Thousands of Dollars..

Regards,

Well of course if you find a good, attractive name using namestation go for that, or just do you own research and see if you can come up with something that is available.

tell us more about the startup

There really is no right answer to this; it's finding the name that you like. If you can't find an available name you like then buying an existing one via a brandable domain site or elsewhere may be the best option.

if you need a quality name for your start up I wouldn't be cheap. find the best name for the co and have no regrets.

If you are going to spend the money, effort and time into a start-up go with the best you can afford.

Your talking about brandables here, right? I wouldn't buy from BB etc unless you're well funded and flush with cash. You can still register reasonable/good brandables with a hand-reg, but it might take some time to get one you are happy with.

I don't know enough about the domain suggestion websites to comment on them.

If I myself personally was willing to invest $xxxx into a brandable name, I wouldn't choose based on what was available from an aftermarket and thought of by someone else. I'd sit down and think of what made sense to me and perfectly suited my company, chances are it would be registered, then I'd go make an offer on it.

Who knows, you could get your dream name for $xxx
