Hello,

Which is better? selling Brandable Domain names by listing it at BrandBucket or by selling individually by creating a website of your own...share your thoughts..:)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

BrandBucket has more eyes but you have to give them exclusivity and they take a big chunk.
I prefer Namerific as you can then list on your own site, Sedo, GoDaddy, etc etc... as well.

There are just so many names listed at BrandBucket these days, without the feature listing how likely will your domain be found?

Otherwise if you have good names, the best you can do is list them everywhere (sedo, godaddy, forums), promote them to endusers, and make sites on them.

Sell it yourself. You don't have to pay anybody else.

If you are talking about qualient - it will not sell neither in brandbucket, nor sedo, or some other place.

Otherwise if you have good names, the best you can do is list them everywhere (sedo, godaddy, forums), promote them to endusers, and make sites on them.

Lol it is one of the best Domain names i registered...you need to tell us the exact reason for this..:)

I partially agree with your last point but any domains can get sold at brandbucket, IMO majority of startups will only purchase Domain names after contacting brandbucket , brandbucket will mail a list of suggestions that are fit for that particular startups( lists chosen are not from featured pages or like that) , they have a wide range of selection available..:)

Of course, it is easy to pick apart other people's names.
Which is why so many members do NOT reveal their names publicly.

The fact is the world is full of companies with names like Qualient.
For 5 years, I worked for Qualex.
This was 1995-2000, when names weren't as scarce as they are now.

Qualient will sell, just be patient and get the best price.
GoDaddy auctions are definitely not the supreme authority in domain values.

here is a tip and something that obviously one cannot do on all sites but do it where possible.

On sedo or ebay etc whatever names you have make mention of other names you have especially brandable names that simply wont come up with traditional search (obviously some sites do not allow you to add text).

Arguing over whats a good brandable name is very tricky is you never know what makes someone tick. Obviously if its hard to say or spell (for most people) it wont help either.

Think of a brandable name buyer the way you would think of someone being presented with a selection of logo options for his company name, you really dont know what excites who.

BP paid 211 million for their logo, the right person loved it, we cant explain it, BBC spent 1.8 mil

id post a link but im a new member so please google most expensive logos and click on the business insider link (should be first)

Mention it everywhere, almost pays to buy one good top domain name that people will look at just so you have where to mention the brandables hahahahaa

anyway good luck with selling :)
