Hi guys,

I'm new at this and new here. I have some names I want to put on a sales site and see Sedo and Afternic are big. Which one should I use? Which one has more names and more visitors?

Thanks.

I would have to say Sedo for more names and visitors.

I've tried both and I like Sedo a lot better, easier to navigate. If your new to the domain business I would suggest starting at Sedo for now and when you get more familar with it, then go and try Afternic.

So, you don't think I have to be on both to not miss customers?

Well, you were asking what one was better. If you put them on both you have a better chance of someone seeing it. If you put it on only one, I recommend Sedo. :)

Okay. Do you think just others like us in the domain area go to Sedo and aftenic, or do you think people who don't know much about domains, but need one, ever make it to them? Because that's really who we want to hook up with, right?

I would post at both sites. It will give you the most exposure. If I had to say which site is better, they are both very close to each other in my book. Afternic maybe slightly lower because it costs your membership fees to list there (but your membership fees will easily be made up in your first sale).

BTW, are you looking to park your domains as well? If so, I wouldn't park with either Sedo or Afternic... PM me if you want my reasons why.

IMO, Sedo is better. But yeah, choice is up to you.

Sedo has been better for me lately with some of their improvements. However, afternic used to be better. List at both is the best way.

sedo got an affiliate program that i know of, and you can also buy/sell domains here.

SEDO is better than afternic for now ... but yea it is obvious that if you list on sedo you 'll miss the customers from afternic so ... list on both ...

But, still what about my earlier question: are most Afternic and Sedo users domainers and not end users who probably don't know about those sites? If so, doesn't that mean they'd probably check both anyway?

well most of the times yes. Most domain buyers check both because they are eager to know what the top sales of the day and stuff like that. So yeah most likey people do check both. But you dont have anything to loose if you list the domain on both places.

My sites are on both but I park with Sedo. Why? Because I want to get to that $20 mark so I get my cheque and switch to Afternic. Afternic ain't bad and the bazarr is very useful.

Another reason to list on both is that people can make lower minimum offers on afternic.

In reply to your other question about people from outside of the industry coming across your names for sale on Sedo and/or afternic - quite unlikely.

As you quite rightly said, they are the people we want to catch.

My advice is take a read of the following thread here.
