Hi!

I am about to read the threads on Dot Mobi, have been away for quite some time, and I would like to say Thank You to everyone for everything.. plus I am happy to be able to return to the "Matrix" online hehehe

So, where is dot mobi today?

Hmm.. it's early.. how do I know? Most phones don't even have internet yet.. and those that do can't even play video mostly (I am American)

So.. with that said.. whatever

The Coporate Dot Mobi sweep has swept..

Have we winessed the historic roots of what companies and in what capacity they have held up the dotmobi banner/flag?

Have we been spoiled by that astonishing, sudden coporate acceptation of a non .com domain name registration and activation? (Domaining is like only 15 years old)

Is there now a playing possum with corporate flipping?

Time to be still and see what happens for our second move (keeping the 500 dollar bills under the monopoly board to use in extreme happenings) ?

Second Wind?

Hmm.. let me pause and surf the web to be amore aware of everyone else's pulsed occurances..

*whatever*,

The key to this whole .MOBI Thingโ„ข will be DEVELOPMENT of .MOBI websites with lots of great, useful, unique, and compelling mobile content - for those that are "on the go"! :gl: :talk:

Absent these critical stand-alone developments - the building of the important "ecosystem" - by those that control and/or own the top generic / keyword .MOBI domains (RFP's, Reserved's, Premiums), the multitude of claimed .MOBI โ„ข terms (Google, Paypal, etc.), as well as smaller investores developers such as ourselves ... the future of .MOBI is far more uncertain, IMHO. :guilty:

Develop, develop, and diversify! :yell:

It's all about Defense at this point - how it can NOT happen

It's all about Defense at this point - how it can NOT happen

So, it is really very early.. and I agree, no one knows the future and where this will all go..

Hold on to your best, friends, try not to sell out - your best is is your best domaining hope at this time for a lifetime's commission =>

-------

I think the U.S marketing can be icing on the cake once all the US companies have agreed that .mobi is a good thing, a way to move forward within the exising ICANN metrics.. and will follow suit once those already existing US .mobi companies even start advertising.. not yet, though..

So, I wonder if the focus on Dot Mobi now is more global..

Mobile phones with internet are more rampant in Asia, apparently, and other regions like the Middle East and Africa and Latin America I am sure MTLD and ICANN want to secure - One Internet that is facing Judgment Day with the oncoming mobile phone with internet revolution/explosion.. (bad bad those private intranets)

China, of course, is BIG (can our friends tell us how it is going, there?).. and India, an English speaking country (domains and phone keypads?) as one of its languages, had some spark on .mobi in an article but I have yet to see many sites from India itself?

But one way you can look at it is, when most phones (soon) come out with internet, what position does MTLD and ICANN want to be in? That is probably what they are focusing on today, in the backroom..

Because once phones with internet come out widespread on majority of mobile phones, then the dreaded fear is it's "too late".. This means that they (ICANN and MTLD) are probabaly wanting to work the international networking.. US can easily jump on board later with a global trend (Time.mobi, MSN.mobi, NBA.mobi no problem.. one tv ad will have everyone jumping on the bandwagon.. Google.mobi) The challenge is International for One Internet..

So, tha game is bigger than we realize here in our funnel.. richest person and hottest company in the world as backers.. its a game of timing.. for the global unification through the new emerging world currency/economy..

Don't kid yourself, ICANN and .mobi business consortium fellowship are working tightly..

To secure the future, global..

"Where is Dot Mobi Today?"

Suffering a slow death....

I believe it is on a silent "stand by". Once google, msn, or/and yahoo start providing ads on mobile sites, many people will regret having sold their best domains so cheap. Time will tell..
Greetings

Where is dot mobi today?

It's in my phone!

And tomorrow it will be in a few other people's phones and a few more the next day and so on.

From what I've seen thus far, I'm afraid I'd have to agree IMHO. :gl:
Again, diversify your holdings!

Yes, not surprising Jeff that you would rep the slow death of mobi. Get over it already, mobi isn't going anywhere, it is here to stay.

Why would you agree with that? What proof do you have that .mobi is "dying a slow death"?

It has barely even been born :imho: .

Please do give some details as to why you think it's dying a "slow" death, since it hasn't even been a year yet.

The only way .mobi "dies" is if mTLD goes out of business and all the .mobi domains will no longer resolve. That would be the only accurate description of the death of a tld. Nothing is going to disappear, it's not going to die, values may rise or fall but it's here to stay. Only one tld I know of has come close to dying and that was .travel. They don't even compare and I should know, I own both and mTLD has their act together far and above that of the .travel registry.

So like I said before, .mobi is in my phone today and will be in even more phones tomorrow.

Not punish ourselves with our own wordings. You check out the response from china regarding .mobi. It still heating up red with smokes.

Based upon commercial view, and the restriction of ordinary website. It serve sound enough to invest in .mobi than ordinary extension like .tv, .net, cn and asia.

Because contempt is blinding.

I just think it's rediculous to give rep to a post that just says ".mobi is dying a slow death".

Posts like that don't deserve reps, IMO.

The same would be true if I wrote a post and said: ".mobi is going to be the next .com".

I'm simply agreeing with Snoop, IMHO.

Additionally, and since you asked ... I just don't think .MOBI with literally 1,000's of (still) undeveloped reserved/premium domain names languishing will be able to catch up with the emerging mobile technologies that are now facilitating mobile websites on existing .COM's, IMHO. Heck, even after just shy of one year ... there are still four INITIAL RFP's unannounced, undeveloped, and in the hands of mTLD. The critical "ecosystem", except for a few developing pioneers on this site whom I fully support, is not getting the support it needs from even its own "backers" ... and I fear, like Snoop, it (the "ecosystem", really) will die a slow and near certain death IMHO. :'(
Thanks for asking and allowing me to share my personal, and humble, opinion.

I don't want to go round and round about this AGAIN, so I'll just support my position that .mobi is NOT dying a slow death with this:

It hasn't been enough time to know that yet!
