Could have swore it was the USPTO government website, but I guess not.

I want to see the parents owned by "Take 2 Interactive" (a large company in the video game industry.) I have tried typing in things like "Take 2 Interactive", "Take Two Interactive", etc. and nothing comes up whatsoever.

So I guess Take 2 doesn't exist or they don't patent all of their games? Come on, this stupid USPTO website is a crock because I KNOW the patents exists but it's pulling nothing out of it's database.

Anyone else want to try or tell me where I can go to see the Take 2 Interactive patents? :/

Thanks,
Andy

The very first thing USPTO database is not crap

Secondly, if you are sure that the company has patents then it may be the case that they have been filed recently and uspto takes 18 months to publish a patent. Therefore, if they have filed a patent in last 18 months you would not be able to see those.

Now let me tell you something games cannot be patented only a method of doing something can be patented.

Cheers

Like a method of playing a game, for example.

Games, game apparatus, methods of playing games, can be and are patented.

United States Patent 6,971,649
Richardson , et al. December 6, 2005
Zero-sum tiling game

Abstract

A zero-sum tiling game. A plurality of "domino-like" game pieces include indicia viewable on the top surfaces of the game pieces that correspond to one, or the other, or both of two halves of the game pieces. The indicia forms a binary set. The indicia associated with one half of the game piece may be summed to indicate the value for that type of indicia for that one half of the game piece, while the indicia may more generally be "added" or "summed" overall to obtain an overall value for any desired number of halves. Particularly, it is an object of the game to lay down game pieces in such a way that each piece that is laid down completes a square that consists of four halves, wherein the sum of the indicia for the four halves is zero.

As far as finding patents owned by a particular company, there could be any of several things going on. Some companies have subsidiary corporations which own all of their IP, and license it back to the main company, for tax reasons among other things.

If Take 2 is the exclusive licensee of some patent or another, then you aren't going to find the patent indexed with Take 2 as the assignee.
