Hello Namepros people. I have just registered my first domain name and would very much appreciate some opinions as to where is the best place to park it. I know very little about the domain name business and this first registration has cost me the princely sum of 7 USD - so I need to make some money quick !

The name I have registered is

canadawet.com

- I like it because it brings up images of wet canadians and also because it is an easy to remember .com which I was surprised to find had not already been registered and of course it is an oblique reference to canadadry. Also I will be using it as a first go to try and learn the ins and outs of some aspects of this business, to test the water so to speak. Your opinions would be most welcome, do you think it has potential for a resale, I know nothing about website creation and do not intend making a website with the name canadawet.com - but somebody else with a sense of humour might want to.

I would like to park it somewhere, suggestions for this would be much appreciated. Can I park it with more than one 'parker' ? Is there a 'parker'that pays more than others?

Many thanks.

My recommendation is name drive. great control panel and immediate updates. Play around with different templates and graphic headers. Choose smart key words since they will determine your ads and navigation words. Make sure that some words you use do not create some unwanted un expected ads. Never ever click on your own ads from any computer - it will only hurt you.

you can see some more Namedrive tips on my namedrive success page in my sig.

enjoy and welcome to the domain world. Its a blast.

Thanks for the advice Fleege. I have actually parked one domain canadawet.com with Namedrive and another one swiving.com with Sedo to see what the difference is. So far I prefer Namedrive for the reasons you mentioned. Sedo seems more geared up to actually finding buyers for domain names as the pages they create are pretty uninspiring.

Too late with the advice about not clicking on my own ads I'm afraid, someone else told me the same thing, but unfortunately I alread did it, mainly to see if things were working properly, which they weren't. There seem to be a lot of dead links. But I guess I can expect trouble now :( They should put it in their FAQs about not clicking on ads, or make it impossible to click through from your own PC.

People are now telling me I need to 'develop' my domain as just parking them is basically a waste of time?
