I've preregistered quite a few premium .eu domains at domaindiscount24. I spoke to them over the phone, and from past experience with other domain releases they average an 80% success rate - that's good enough for me.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I'm also using dd24 because I used them for .in registrations and they were very successful then also. Only problem is they aren't the cheapest, compared to others that are around.

I used Lycos.co.uk but I am starting to regret it - They said no payment was needed unless they secured the domains on April 7

Before confirming all my 140 pre-reg's I phoned them to confirm no payment was needed up front.

Now - just yesterday they told me I have to wire 25% of the money to them before 27 March or they will all be cancelled. They say they can't take it off my credit card and it has to be wired ??

They have my creditcard details and I have stated I would be more than willing to pay for all 140 pre-reg'd names if they get them.

I would'nt mind if they mentioned this on their website previously but they mention the opposite ! No payment is needed unless we secure the domain.

I am tempted to tell them to stuff it :yell: LOL Rant over !

I am really worried about the names I pre-registered. I booked my list of names at domaindiscount24 then I went to

http://www.united-domains.de

and entered all my domains and found they had also been pre-registered, obviously, by someone else. Then, I went to:

http://www.domainname.at

and found all my names had gone. Next I went to:

http://www.realtime.at

and again found all my names had gone. These are just three registrars out of 800 or 900 that have "my" names pre-registered by someone else. I think I will be lucky to get 1 at of 10 names I've "expressed an interest in". My names at:

http://www.eurodns.com

I am thinking of downgrading -- cancelling and reselecting -- to less popular names so I have a real chance of getting anything at all on 7th April. I went to discountdoamins24 becauses of their good mix of success in the sunrises and their reasonable prices. But I fear the competition for names will be unprecedented on 7th April even the excellent registrars will bring up some empty nets.

Is there a non-refundable fee for preregistering

domain discount will refund your 30% discount of the registration is unsuccessful.

What i've been doing before pre-registering any domains though is checking the whois list at eurid.eu to check that no sunrise applications are in, cos if they are you're pretty much wasting your time with pre-registering them. If their sunrise is unsuccessful, those names will still not be released on 7th April, but held as reserved by Eurid and released to open market at a later date.

I see, that's very interesting. Because a couple of mine are currently at "Application pending".

It may cost less, but what is the success rate?

Usually the most amazing deals are advertised on lamp-posts next to traffic lights. Keep your eyes open when you go out tomorrow.

Dunno how can i check that?
Plus you can't really say that 29/30 euros is a logical price..

Well, it is considering their track record of an 80% success rate for the launch of other new geographical TLD's such as .In.

what do people think of speedpacket.com about regging .eus? I've preregged 4 with a total cost of 80 euros. Is that what everyone else has roughly paid, 20 euros a reg?

Cheers
