When To Backorder?

There is a domain I want with an expiration date on whois of 5th April.

I hope the owner does not renew.

I know once this date has passed it's possible for the owner to still renew.

My question is, when would be the best date to place a backorder for the domain on a service such as namejet?

Technically you can backorder at the very last second of what's a certain service allows. If the service doesn't show the backorders to others, it doesn't matter at all, you can backorder even today. I didn't use Namejet for a while but if i'm not wrong they were showing the backorder info, so with them we needed to snipe.

The registrar is name bright and I could not find any info on them in that thread.
