question Best place to backorder?

What is the best place to backorder?
I want to avoid snapnames because they are related with moniker, and i don't like moniker as registrar.

I think Godaddy backorder service wouldn't be too fast to catch it compared with other service (although i had success with Godaddy once -- the caught domain name is not that valuable anyway).

I only know Namejet as last option, is there anything better than Namejet?

And what is backorder strategy, now the domain name is in "redemption period".
And that period will end in +- 12 days.
Should i backorder now?

There are the big players:

SnapNames, NameJet, DropCatch, Pheenix

Then the smaller players: DyanaDot, Name.com, GoDaddy, etc.

They offer the (roughly) same service for different costs, and each has their own success rate. If you really want a domain, I'd suggest backordering it at all of the above. Some of these companies will go to a private auction if multiple people backordered (SnapNames, NameJet, Pheenix, DynaDot), DropCatch will send it to a public auction if multiple people backordered, and some places like Name.com will only allow a single backorder to be placed (First come First serve basis).

As far as when to backorder, each service has their own policy on that as well. Some only allow a backorder to be placed once the domain is in "PendingDelete" status, which means it cannot be redeemed by the prior owner, and it is guaranteed to be dropped.

There is a saying: "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" From my experience, this couldn't be more true than with backoredering!

If you really like a domain, I recommend backordering it with as many services as possible:
DropCatch.com
Hexonet.com
domainmonster.com
dynadot.com
pheenix.com
snapnames.com
namejet.com

It seems like DropCatch is not a great option, because if they get it, it will go to a public auction, no? And then others will be alerted to the domain and you probably won't get a deal.

Snapnames is best IMO and better than DropCatch!

DropCatch is the biggest and almost always successful, but the domains they catch do go into a public auction and not a private auction. You could try the others listed in this thread, plus Pool.com and BackorderZone.

Dropcatch looks to be one of the strongest right now. The public auction feature is a bummer though.

I use to have luck with Pheenix but not much nowadays.
