names regged at godaddy usually are caught by gd
names regged at netsol. enom, dotster, namecheap and some others are usually caught by namejet
It is a little different than that. Names that are regged at godaddy will automatically go to auction at godaddy and godaddy doesn't need to catch any of them because all of them are still under the control of godaddy for 45 days after they expire. This is called a pre-release auction and it is the first auction.
Similarly, names that are registered at netsol. enom, dotster, namecheap will automatically go to aution at namejet.
NameJet says it needs to be backordered by a certain date, what happens after this date if no ones bidded on it?
The domain will drop about 35 days after the date that shows on namejet and the fastest dropcatcher will catch it which is not godaddy. They are the slowest.
Get the domain now at namejet for 69 or 35 days later it will be scanned by 1000 people and none of them must want the domain in order for you to get it. There are about 20 different companies and individuals that can beat godaddy in dropcatching.
Let me explain this way:
In order for your Godaddy backorder to work, all these things must happen:
1) nobody must bid on the namejet auction and
2) 35 days later when the domain enters pending delete about 1000 people will scan the pending delete list and none of them must backorder it at snapnames, intrustdomains, name.com, namejet and pool and a few other places because godaddy can not beat any of them.
If you let the domain go now because you think 69 is too much, chances are somebody will snap 35 days later when it drops and list for sale for 2000 USD.
A lot of smart people have developed very sophisticated software that scans through all dropping domains and finds anything valuable.
