When is being polite a little over the top?

You know those times when you're buying/selling/trading something that's a complete steal...and the person you're dealing with is just the nicest most kindest person ever? Suddenly you find yourself stuck in an endless 'too polite' exchange of 'thank you' PMs or email that's actually very sincere/genuine?



This happens ever-so frequently. :D
Something like this:

Me: Thanks for the great offer, your kindness and for the fast push.

You: You're very welcome. Besides, it was entirely my pleasure! You're a great person to do business with!

Me: Thanks! Really nice of you to say that! It was great doing business with you!

You: Ok, thank you very much. If you would like to buy more (e.g. domains) just let me know.

Me: *starting to wonder if it would be rude not to reply...*
Me: Sure great. I'll definitely let you know if I want to buy more.

You: That's just great. Looking forward to it! It makes me happy to have at satisfied customers! I will offer an even bigger discount for your next purchase (if any).

Me: Of course there will be more future purchases..................

..............Ok, well you guys get the hint. :D :D :D

Do you guys appreciate the many thank-yous or do you feel one 'thank you' is enough and that's it, period? :D

Hahaha...cracked me up! :D I try to avoid that when it comes to chatting on the IMs though. When someone says bye I reply and that's it. If they say it again I ignore them. It might be a bit rude of me, but after several years of online chatting...quick goodbyes are simply less emotional.
