People help me out alot on these forums and I know it helps everybody because people can always find answers to questions that have already been asked....but is it polite to leave thank people and post again??? Or is this a no no because then the post goes to the top of the list again just for everybody to see you say thank you?? Common sense is telling me to just not say thank you, but manners are screaming at me to do it...what do you think?

I think it adds value to the thread if you post to say thank you, as it indicates to future readers that the answers given actually helped.

It's not always appropriate, but if you can, you could also put in your thank you post how things are going. e.g. "Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I ended up choosing a/b/c because of x/y/z and so far it's going great/okay/badly?

Agree..Thank you for posting that, -NC- :p Not to discount the fact that while some pople will help rather thanked or not, others won't. You don't want the one person who may have the answer you seek passing-up posting it becuase they remember you as "ungrateful" :)

Well, you can always say your thanks by rep like what Bill said or you can also send pm to the person you want to thank to avoid penalties such as running up post counts etc....
