I hadn't used Moniker.com in a while to regsiter domains. Recently I regged a few there. Everytime I do, I see all of these domains for sale at ridiculous prices in the millions, for 3 word names! Who are they trying to kid? Example:

anusadventure.com $29,411,765.00 [Make Offer]
anusadventures.com $29,411,765.00 [Make Offer]
situatie.com $10,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
stutenritt.de $15,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
magiccreature.com $15,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
magiccreature.net $15,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
magiccreature.de $15,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
magiccreature.tv $15,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
magiccreature.org $15,000,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]
obituary.net $2,500,000.00 [Make Offer] [Buy Now]

$29,000,000 for An USA Adventure? Right, sure. I'll send it today! They guys are funnier than GreatDomains.com! v :sold: These are the people running auctions?
It's almost fun now to register a name there, just to see what I can buy for a few million! :hehe: Who is coming with the price, Moniker, or the seller? Either way, they need a kick in the pants to wake up! Ha!

My Moniker rep encouraged me to set ridiculous asking prices. In fact when I originally sent my portfolio to him, he mailed it back in a spreadsheet with each domain having a recommended extremely high asking price at the Moniker marketplace.

On the flip side, when these domains go to auction they ask you to set unreasonably low prices for reserves.

I guess if you average (ridiculous high)+(ridiculous low) then you get some reasonable pricing average. But of course buyers only see the ridiculous high/low and not the "average" between high/low.

So the short answer: I set the high asking price where Moniker recommended.

I just managed to buy anusadventure for $9500 (am I the a top negotiator or what)that means I just saved $29,402,265 is that the saving of the century : ), I pat myself on the back for being able to save so much money. Man what a freaking bargain : )

Reality check: Just tried to sell anusadventure.com on ebay from 0.99c auction, it sold for $1.14 :(

Thats how it would pan out if I were an idiot

Marc, I figured it was Moniker doing the pricing! I wasn't knocking the names, just the price. There are end users out there for almost any domain name, but not for $29,000,00! Sorry, about the lousy comment, I was just meaning in reference to the price.

No problem, I was just saying that Moniker recommended setting high prices on those domains you list in the marketplace, and yes, I agreed with those recommendations and set my price accordingly. In contrast, they ask you to set your reserves for an auction to low levels to stimulate buyer interest. When it comes to domain names, the spread between the bid and ask price is probably more than any other commonly traded investment.

Frank, this is funny! Something tells me that (unlike my case) these prices were NOT recommended by a Moniker rep! There is a big difference between high end-user asking prices and delusional asking prices.

I guess their thinking is they only have to get lucky once !

They may also be thinking that if people see these prices on their website then when they pay 500K for a name at auction they might think they have got a bargain.

That is only $2,262,443.46 a character which is not bad IMHO. O.Com would prob sell for $5 million or more so this is really like a half price bargain. :sold:

Who knows?

Why not go and regsiter these available to reg typos of this insanely popular word domhom and cash in on the astronomical and breathtaking type in traffic that domhom.com has to offer...

ROMHOM.COM
GOMHOM.COM
YOMHOM.COM

Sorry I was looking at the worng place on my keboard: Available Typos are:

WOMHOM.COM
AND
ROMHOM.COM

Don't leave these juicy suckers unreg...They are pure Platinum, encrusted with rubies and flawless bright red fancy diamonds

Or you could put them on Moniker and add some competion (don't fear I am not going to register them)

Take my advice this is the opportunity of a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
