What's the grace period for .io domains?

Namecheap wants $130 to renew a .io domain that expired on 9/1. I thought I was in the 40 day grace period -> https://my.nic.io/legal/legal_renewal.html

Namecheap is telling me that their system is setup for 30 days grace period. This seems a bit shady. Are there any registrars that follow the grace period as stated by nic.io?
