Yes, I am afraid it may become the new 'normal'. They just reported that it is now tied with the most powerful hurricane in recorded history...I think the other was in 1934.

This thread has literally nothing to do with domains, nothing to do with reviews and is a bunch of pontificating about narrow and shallow views and a smattering of ads from some crap product that Epik is working on.

This thread has more or less died a few times. It started out as a sort of condemnation against lawful free spech, but it has become an ongoing AMA.

If you are talking about occasional Christian commentary, you can tune it out. It is a relevant feature for understanding the choices that I have made as CEO of Epik.

One model shows that the hurricane might brush off the east coast, but could turn back to sea without making a full landfall, so lets keep our fingers crossed and keep praying that there will be no lives lost anywhere, I don't know if the atheists pray or not, but lets invite everyone to join in and project some positive energy collectively in the form of wishing for the best outcome for everyone along the hurricane path. IMO

The folks who have been praying for the storm to go there seem to be prevailing.

As for the "out to sea" scenario, I don't see it happening.

I see an equal chance of the storm running over Bahamas, and moving southwest towards Miami, traveling along the Keys and refueling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Either way, I think the US is in for ~10 days of reminders of God's power and his mercy.

And since there are many domainers in southern Florida, I pray for their safety, including Scott Ross, who used to like me but changed his mind in an open rebuke on Facebook.

I see an equal chance of the storm running over Bahamas, and moving southwest towards Miami, traveling along the Keys and refueling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Either way, I think the US is in for ~10 days of reminders of God's power and his mercy.

And since there are many domainers in southern Florida, I pray for their safety, including Scott Ross, who used to like me but changed his mind in an open rebuke on Facebook.

From what I can tell, the mainstream media is not doing a great job of informing people. Did you know that IBM acquired Weather Channel? They also own many of the secondary weather sites like Wunderground. What is the logic of that?

It comes across as you want this to hit and cause damage, just to show "God's power and his mercy." And it's already passed Miami, it's like you can't read some basic charts or a radar.

As far as the mass shootings, more Jesus isn't going to stop that. More common sense approaches can help in that matter. Removing the dumbass President is a good step, I mean:

In addition to Florida - South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. BE CAREFUL! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

People are responding to his posts in this thread, so they're on topic. I mean, people are literally quoting him and offering up a reply, it seems you have a problem with people replying.

As far as taking the conversation to other threads. People have asked Namepros staff to do it, they've done nothing. I posted links to the Religious thread, Political thread, I said start a conspiracy thread if that's what you want to talk about. Others have said the same thing. Rob is still talking about that stuff here, you're complaining about the responses. I guess those topics are here, to bury the original topic. Again, start a Conspiracy thread if you're into that, that's what the Break Room is for. If you want to talk about Religion or Politics, there are already existing threads for that, go post there.

And hurricanes don't move South, sorry. And "God" using his power to murder people, wipe out their homes, destroy lives, is not what I would call a nice thing. It's kinda of being an asshole. But I'm sure it will be some cool videos to pass around.

Welcome back.

I am one who believes that the God of creation does not miss much. In other words, He allows disaster, disease and misfortune. Sometimes He causes it.

In general, I believe many of us put too much value in our "stuff". Hurricanes and disasters remind us that our "stuff" is fleeting and temporal.

Of course I don't wish for anyone to lose their stuff. However, if they do lose their stuff and instead figure out the meaning of life, it will be a blessing in disguise.

For calibration, the 2 biggest setbacks of my life were ultimately my 2 biggest blessings.

- A divorce from wife #1 (2003)

- Being fired from running GMI, the company I founded in 1999 and grew 100% per year for 7 straight years, and for which I was named Entrepreneur of the Year. (2007)

Up until this point, I viewed money as the main barometer of success and lived ostentatiously (private jet, Maserati, etc) with little to no concern for eternity.

However, it was really these 2 setbacks that set me on a course to figure some things out, including the meaning of life.

Yes, I personally do have stuff. I consider myself a steward of it. In fact, I repudiate all of it daily. I have not drawn a salary at Epik for a long time and do so only as needed.

As for losing one's life, I often say: "when it's my time, it's my time". I sincerely believe that. I am not intentionally reckless, but I do walk in faith.

As you can see, there is no hypocrisy here. I absolutely have zero schadenfreude. However, I do care more about souls and lives than I care about stuff.

Arlene wasn't a hurricane, nice try. Something that grew, sputtered out and reformed. And hurricanes in the Atlantic don't move South. They usually go Northerly, East/West.
