NamePros is working on a lot of new and exciting features, and many of them are thanks to member suggestions in our Comments and Feedback section.

i think the last time i checked, the fee was $100k just to file with icann.org.

some posts say xx replies so it seems at first glance like a worthwhile active chat to read, yet after opening it is revealed that all replies are from the original poster bumping up his thread to catch attention! this is especially rampant in the appraisal and selling section. the solution would be to not count the original poster's post as a reply if there are two consecutive posts in a row in the thread.

Agreed; this is why we show "# posters" instead of the number of posts under the "New posts" sidebar widget. We also sort by replies excluding the original poster whenever we sort content.

Pro Tip:

There's a quick way to see these numbers when you click on "views" inside of a thread:

Then it's shown under either:

• Comments, excluding comments from article creator
• Replies, excluding replies from thread creator

There's also:

• Members who responded with a comment
• Members who responded with a reply

These can be helpful.

It would be nice if we could add this information to more places.

Hi,

This is completely usual here. Unless they are auctions, threads offering domains get few postings from members other than original poster. It is meant to be so, I understand now -it used to make me wonder during the first months after I joined NamePros.

"Bumps" are specifically referred to and regulated in NamePros' rules, you can read the corresponding section, it is helpful.

Possible separation in the Alerts notifications stream of Thanks/Likes/Agrees/etc on the one hand, and Replies and Mentions on the other hand. Can be done with a temp partial Hide function, too.

It would be great to have a time stamp at the top of wanted posts showing when the OP last updated. I believe NP has rules around how often OP needs to refresh these posts, but we users have no idea of that status. It would be good to know that a two year old post is still active, just as the NP system knows. Show that to the rest of us. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks.
